We started out in 2015 as ING’s software development hub – a distinct entity from ING Bank Romania – then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies. 

Formerly known as ING Tech, as of 2022 we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities under the name of ING Hubs Romania and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj. 

With the help of 1400 engineers, risk and operations professionals, we offer 150 services in tech, non-financial risk & compliance, audit and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide.

Our tech capabilities remain the core of our business, with more than 1100 colleagues active in Data Management, TouchPoint Channels & Integration and Core Banking.

The Mission

The aim is to provide a foundation for global development solutions and features for WholeSale Banking clients of ING Group. This will enable us to unlock synergies between countries in the digital transformation and DDB Team is one of the most productive and mature team within ING WholeSale Banking area responsible for many strategic projects.

Your day to day

Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:

  • Write well designed testable, efficient code in a Java 8 or upper versions;
  • Develop new microservices and offer support for other squads to integrate them with the team assets
  • Actively involved in the architectural design of the microservices;
  • Workload estimations during the planning sessions;
  • The team is the asset owner, take care of codebase by applying comprehensive code review, advising, and couching younglings
  • Test the application from all angles! (unit, integration, functional, performance, load / stress)
  • Investigate and give resolutions for defects (in test, acceptance or production environments);
  • Brainstorm with the team over continuous improvements of the development process;
  • Create and/or release documents to support the deployments and the software after the release
  • Participate in SCRUM ceremonies
  • Working with Docker environment, Azure pipelines, BDD with Python

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Experience: minimum 3 years of experience
  • Tech stack / knowledge:
    • Mandatory: Java, SpringBoot, REST API design pattern, Docker
    • Nice to have: Azure DevOps, Microservices, Oracle DB, Python, Linux
  • Foreign languages: English (advanced)
  • Education: nice to have Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an IT related field
