We started out in 2015 as ING’s software development hub – a distinct entity from ING Bank Romania – then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies. Formerly known as ING Tech, as of 2022 we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities under the name of ING Hubs Romania and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.

With the help of over 1600 engineers, risk, and operations professionals, we offer 130 services in tech, non-financial risk & compliance, audit and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide.

The mission

People Services Lead manages a team of HR specialists: resourcing, payroll, admin, handling employees and organizations data, employee relations, benefits administration, internal mobility.

The team works with managers and individuals to facilitate employee relations and resolve human resource issues on behalf of the organization, including workplace safety and comfort, handling employee complaints, grievances, cases of poor performance, employee assistance (e.g., helping employees with medical issues including stress), and dealing with non-standard cases.

Your day to day

  • Monitors the performance and quality of the delivery for various HR process and ensures that they are made with transparency, accurate and in timely manner;
  • Manages a team of Employee Relations Experts and Employee Representatives Specialists in order to deliver high quality services to the organisation;
  • Improving operational quality by identifying opportunities for standardization and by proposing new (technical) solutions in order to achieve increased efficiency for employees and ING;
  • Actively manages third party relationships by building and maintaining sustainable relationships with relevant external HR service providers (benefits providers, database providers, etc.).
  • Collaborate with colleagues within other HR areas: HRBP and Communities of Expertise to standardize operational processes across all ING global units, where possible, to successfully implement the global HR Service Delivery Model;
  • Implements risk management best practices within de HR function;
  • Has the role of ambassador, of the global HR service delivery model, in front of local management: shares local constraints and expertise with colleagues from the Global Service Delivery team;
  • Ensures that the principles, standards, policies and governance rules of ING are followed and respected;
  • Signs, always together with a legal representative of the entity, employment contracts and additional documents to these contracts, agreements/decisions to terminate employment relationships, other legal documents concluded between the entity and its employees;
  • Obliges to take note of and comply with the provisions of the Internal Regulation regarding labour protection and to carry out its activity in accordance with the safety and health at work instructions received from the employer - detailed in the individual Training Sheet;
  • Obliges to comply with the provisions of the Internal Regulations, the Code of Conduct, other rules, internal work procedures, any other regulations applicable in the field of activity, both to ensure a good performance of the activity, in general, and to prevent risks which could expose both the company and the person himself;

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Human Resources (People services /Employee relations /Operations /Admin areas);
  • Hands-on people management experience in an HR structure;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field;
  • Romanian legislation governing labour relations (Labour Code), etc.
  • Computer skills: MsOffice, Charisma HR; Workday experience is a plus;
  • Experience in leading large projects from an HR perspective, with input also from other functions;
  • Hands-on experience in managing multiple stakeholders;
  • Previous experience in a tech company is a plus;
  • Language level: English (spoken and written) – fluent
  • Competences: ability to collect, classify and process information, ability to work with deadlines and on complex projects, adaptability, responsibility, teamwork and constant focus on improving processes.
