Job Overview & Your working environment

The Finance Business Advice team, a department which consists of finance professionals advising the Global CTO and COO of the bank.

In this role you have to advice the Tech MT of theGlobal Fraud Prevention & Financial Crime. Your advice is based on the insights you obtain from financial analyses, with a focus on the development of the value drivers. Next to the regular work, you will also participate as financial expert in strategic projects on an ad-hoc basis.

This Is What Your Activities Will Look Like

  • Together with the business drive the budgeting and forecasting process ensuring collaboration and consensus with stakeholders and leadership
  • Monitor and challenge performance by tracking the value drivers
  • Advise on all matters concerning operational efficiency, cost modelling, allocation, financial planning and control
  • Actively engage in the month-end process, with stringent reviews, analysis, and reporting
  • Continuously look for process improvements and execute them

Key Responsibilities

  • Sparring partner for senior management in strategic and tactical decision making

  • Provide reports and analysis in a timely manner to support management decisions

  • Design and delivery of COO Finance and CTO Finance (non-)financials through Quarterly Performance Reviews, bi-annual Strategic Dialogues, Dynamic Planning, and Monthly Analysis

  • Advise on all matters concerning operational efficiency, cost modelling, allocation, financial planning and control

  • Follow cost trends and adjust Rolling Forecast periodically

  • Perform run-rate analysis, advise on cost efficiency opportunities and prepare business cases for Change programs

  • Reporting and analysis (vs. Plan) of Actual spend using standard dashboards and other tools

  • Full control of costs (P&L) and FTEs, including the review & approval of requisitions, cost charging and analytical review

  • Maintain effective management of MA data-sources and monitor implementation of org. structure changes (i.e. Info Memos, RFAs)

  • Review and advise on Balance Sheet positions, including restructuring and litigation provisions, asset capitalization, amortization and impairment testing as/when required

  • Strong collaboration with finance colleagues, and non-finance stakeholders to ensure greater transparency, consistency, and insight

Key Capabilities/Experience & Minimum Qualifications

  • University (Bachelor’s/Master’s) Financial Master's degree

  • At least 5+ years of professional working experience in a relevant position such as Finance Business Partner, Business controller, or compatible

  • Interest in IT to be able to catch on with your surroundings

  • Experience in translating complex data into sound and clear advice

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels of management

  • Being pro-active and curious will help you to be successful in this dynamic environment.

  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI skills. Knowledge in Hyperion and SmartView is a plus

  • You love to work with numbers and have a genuine interest in controlling the expense base

  • Fluent in the English (verbal and written)

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Track record in a complex environment

  • Organizational sensitivity and effective conflict management skills
