Java Devops Engineer

ING WB Cash And Liquidity Management tribe is currently developing scalable, resilient, real time banking processes which will empower ING digital treasurers customer to manage their key cash management tasks.

We are looking for a motivated, self-managed Java DevOps engineer who will further improve our digital transformation journey, and make our customer experience a fantastic voyage. We look for someone with modern day essential engineering skills like innovation, creativity, attention to details, communication and much more. Our solution has front-end Web application, Java API’s and SAP Banking services as core backend.

What you’ll do

You will work on multidisciplinary autonomous squad following Agile way of working developing and maintaining our cash management solution. A great stage to shine for any serious software craftsman.

You work in an international environment in our multidisciplinary squads.

Together with business customer journey experts, solution architects and other DevOps colleagues you build our next generation banking applications. You are responsible and take ownership.

Your profile

As a Java Engineer, you will be involved in the design and development of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) in one of our agile teams. APIs is a way to easily open-up capabilities and share data. We believe it will help ING to accelerate innovation and collaboration with partners, customers, and platforms to improve customer experiences and create new business models. The key to success is our developer portal at developer.ing.com which enables parties to connect and create value in an easy, secure, and scalable way.

Your profile should include:

• At least 8 years of work experience in software development with at least 5 years of hands-on Java programming
• Strong knowledge of Java development for internet and mobile solutions. You know the difference between the frameworks and know which to apply depending on the requirements,
• You also have full stack knowledge, like Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and JUnit.
• You have knowledge of Apache Camel Framework.
• You have experience with UI components and modular-based architecture.
• You have knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• You have competent knowledge of Accessibility, Security, Performance.
• You have experience and thorough understanding of (test) automation, continuous delivery, deployment tools and pipelines. We work with private cloud environments, and we are using Azure DevOps pipelines as CI / CD.
• You have experience on Monitoring Tools (ELK, Grafana).
• You have knowledge on messaging systems like Kafka, MQ.
• You have a good understanding of API technology, OAuth, PKI/certificates/TLS.
• You are competent in multiple programming languages (for example Java, Scala, and/or Python) to give support on customer-specific problems.
• You keep up to date on the latest technical developments relating to industry standards and best practices.
• You have an agile mind set, fast to adapt constant changes and feeling comfortable with it. You are involved in the maintenance of stable products in our teams,
• You have strong communication skills and easily engage with customers.
• We expect the ability to transfer knowledge back to the ING Bank by holding presentations, workshops, documentation and most important: setting new standards for the ways we do tech.
