ING, a Pioneering Employer
At ING we are committed to diversity, inclusion and belonging, not just because it is the right thing to do. We do it because we can’t deliver our strategy without it. Because of this engagement, ING has been recognised as a certified Pioneering Employer.
To stay a step ahead, we need teams with a healthy mix of contrasting perspectives and backgrounds. By embracing diversity, we enhance our candidate pool, attract and retain top-tier talent, foster a deeper understanding of diverse customer segments, promote adaptability and prevent groupthink. This brings us one step closer to disrupting the status quo. At ING, diversity isn’t just a buzzword, it’s the driving force behind our success.
To make our work environment as inclusive as possible, our way of working and processes have been adapted accordingly. As such, we have a specific approach to prevent biases in recruitment and to give everyone equal opportunities, and we regularly organise trainings and workshops on diversity and inclusion.
Diversity manifesto
At ING, we aim to foster an inclusive environment, a space where individuals can express their true selves without fear of judgement or the need to conceal any aspect of their identity. Authenticity is valued, and there’s no pressure to pretend or conform to anything that doesn’t resonate with one’s genuine self.

Employee networks
At ING, we want everyone to be able to be themselves in the workplace. When we treat each other with support and mutual respect and work together inclusively across our differences, the possibilities of what we can achieve know no bounds. Our employee networks actively help us in achieving this ambition. These networks bring together like-minded people within ING who want to make a difference.
At ING Belgium, we have 6 networks:
- Rainbow Lions - defends LGBTQ+ interests within ING.
- BEING - increases awareness on the structural realities and individual experiences of black employees at work.
- Lioness - strives for gender equality within ING.
- CrossING - connects and embraces all cultures and builds bridges between them.
- RING - brings together all of ING's young employees (under 37).
- Enable - aims to create a space where colleagues with disabilities and allies can connect, share experiences and help shape the future of our workplace, environment and the overall community.
