The Business Intelligence as a Service (BIaaS) is a receiver ready solution based on the standard Business Intelligence technologies used in ING (IBM Cognos Analytics and Microsoft PowerBI) for controlled and exploration reporting.

The solution is providing extensive features and integrations which makes it possible to have entities and business units onboarded and it is instantly ready for providing reporting, dashboarding and storytelling capabilities.

Its main purpose is to contribute to the Think Forward strategy by providing users easy access to data, self-service Business Intelligence (BI) capabilities to support them with their data-based decision making, thus resulting in the following benefits:

• Shorten time to deliver Business insight and value

• Reduce the number of Business Intelligence (BI) Products

• Optimize the IT capacity, service and resourcing to lower costs (ING overall and per entity/country/domain)

• Standardized way of working and Business Intelligence (BI) processes will allow us to deliver consistent reports and information in a compliant manner

• Ease of reuse and adaption of Business Intelligence (BI) applications, reports, metrics and views

• Expose Meta Data and provide insight to the Meta Data used

Your day-to-day:

• Responsible for the global Business Intelligence (BI) platform used in ING’s Group Services (BI tool - Cognos Analytics from IBM): deployment, monitoring, testing, performance

• Using Agile SCRUM principles to deliver, maintain and extend the data analytics & reporting platform

• Actively involved in platform automation and orchestration, both from technical and process points of view; focused on establishing, managing, and configuring Cognos Analytics environments

• Being in charge for the reliability and stability of the platform

• Proactive in coming up with improvements and new solutions - identifying best approaches from technical and risk perspectives

What you’ll bring to the team

We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated team-player to be part of BI Platform team who has the following characteristics:

Technical skills:

• 3+ years of experience maintaining high availability applications on Linux environments

• Experience with operating systems (Unix/Windows) with focus on troubleshooting and fine tunning

• Good knowledge with Relational Database Administration

• Highly proficient in Java and Middleware Administration

• Experience with scripting and automation (Ansible, Linux Shell scripting)

• Adept of the DevOps culture with in-depth knowledge on Continuous Integration/ Continuous Delivery principles (Azure DevOps expertise is considered a plus)

• Good knowledge with monitoring and observability tools (Elasticsearch/Logstash/Kibana/Graphite/Grafana/Prometheus)

Soft skills:

• Effective decision making/problem solving skills (debugging, testing)

• Willingness to learn new things & technologies (automation tools, OS related, storage related)

• Ability to understand and translate user requirements

• Good team player and communication skills; Fast learner and willing to improve daily

• Excellent written and spoken English skills
