Location:                     Dublin

Contract Type:              Full-Time Employee

Overview / work environment:

You will work alongside experienced professionals in the Dublin unit of ING’s Capital Markets & Advisory (“CMA”) group, a commercial unit responsible for structuring balance sheet solutions for ING as well as securitisation and related capital markets transactions for our clients.

CMA has been formed to enhance ING’s ability to better compete in the board rooms of clients for high value-added fee and advisory services while also aligning more of our internal capability to accelerate capital velocity.

Within ING Dublin, CMA activities include both solutions for ING’s own balance sheet (Structured Distribution Solutions (“SDS”) and Asset Securitisation.

SDS is responsible for the design and execution of various portfolio based solutions (including Forward Flow Partnerships, Structured Portfolio Sales and Significant Risk Transfer securitisations) to help deliver on ING’s Capital Velocity goals.

Key responsibilities:

As an Associate / Vice President of CMA, you will work alongside senior colleagues in all aspects of transactions, including origination, structuring, execution and (where relevant) distribution. You will work in focused deal teams, alongside dedicated professionals based in multiple locations across ING’s global network.

For the Asset Securitisation aspects, your tasks will include:

  • Managing approval and documentation processes including performing due diligence and analysis, preparing greenlight memos for new transactions, preparing credit applications, building cash flow models, and reviewing legal documentation.
  • Maintaining the correct booking and oversight of existing transactions in the portfolio in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Overseeing the smooth operation of the ING sponsored asset backed commercial paper conduit and related operational and credit requirements.
  • Coordinating operational processes for smooth execution during the life of the transactions, including onboarding of new clients, meeting KYC requirements and interfacing with support functions such as Risk Management and Loan Operations

For the SDS aspects, you will:

  • Work with a growing specialist team to:
    • Selectively dispose loan assets in the secondary market.
    • Establish and promote Forward Flow Partnerships with third party investors; and
    • Help create the readiness for ING to become a programmatic issuer of synthetic securitisations (“SRT’s”) to reduce RWA on portfolios of exposures.
  • SDS initiatives involve extensive interaction with a wide range of internal stakeholders on high profile strategic initiatives.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Thrives in a collaborative team environment, working closely with colleagues toward common goals.
  • Has a strong academic track record with university and/or professional qualification in business, finance, or related discipline.
  • Has solid experience in wholesale banking, asset-backed securities and/or capital markets.  Ultimately, at least 3-5 years’ experience working in relevant fields of the financial services sector is expected.
  • Has a genuine interest and curiosity in finance and a desire to build your expertise in structured finance, banking, and related activities.
  • Is comfortable with data and has strong financial modelling skills.
  • Has excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience and proficiency in PowerPoint will be an asset.
  • Is detail-oriented and accurate, you can manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

We offer you:

  • A clear purpose, a unique offer, and a range of benefits:
  • Personal growth & challenging work with the opportunity to acquire skills, experience and progress your career in banking.
  • Informal, dynamic workplace with innovative colleagues supporting your endeavours.
  • Exposure to an international environment and close collaboration with colleagues across the globe
  • On-the-job training to translate theory into practice, learning from highly experienced professionals.

A hybrid way of working.

  • We give the autonomy to our employees to let them organize their work in a flexible way that suits best for them while ensuring business continuity, customer service and employee wellbeing.
