The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly motivated Relationship Manager (Local Account Manager – “LAM”) to join our dynamic client-facing team in Dublin. In this role you will tale care of your own portfolio in Ireland, mange and grow in co-ordination with the Parent Account Manager (“PAM”) who is responsible for the relationship at global level. You will co-ordinate and collaborate with various Wholesale Banking Products and Client Service teams, so that your clients’ needs are met, and you ensure that a superior client experience is delivered. You will support senior colleagues in the team on more complex client relationships, gaining valuable experience and insight into more strategic client dialogue. The position offers an excellent opportunity to build your skills in client coverage, drive your own P&L and grow within a supportive and collaborative team.

The Work Environment

The Network Sector Coverage (“NSC”) team is part of the ING Wholesale Banking’s Corporate Sector Coverage Team (“CSC”) in Dublin. We are fast growing with ambitions to build a larger business supporting subsidiaries of multinational clients of ING operating in Ireland. In this role you will cover an existing client portfolio, as well as implanting ING’s strategy to onboard new clients. You will report to the Head of NSC Ireland.   

Your Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious Relationship Manager to join our team. In this role, you will develop and manage your own client (LAM) portfolio by identifying client needs for financial solutions and services offered by ING. You explore opportunities for growth and have an ambition to pursue them. You are eager to learn and improve every day, with a strong focus on delivering high quality work in a timely and diligent manner. The NSC team is at the centre of our ING strategy with network business being one of the three core differentiators of ING Wholesale Banking. You will be part of global Virtual Client Teams (“VCTs”) and learn from PAMs across the globe, as well as from various product departments. You will grow your own expertise and a wide variety of skills, as well as build a strong (international) network.

Your Tasks

  • Actively contribute to the development of NSC Ireland’s growth ambition.
  • Pro-active coverage of the assigned client portfolio.
  • Build and grow trustworthy client and prospect relationships to originate new business opportunities for ING, by actively pitching the core banking products.
  • Implement the VCTs strategies and work closely with the PAM’s and product departments to optimize cross-buy and increase share of wallet.
  • Be responsible for the financial performance of your portfolio, with a focus on growing the revenues in a capital efficient manner.
  • Keep business safe and compliant, adhering to all applicable internal policies.

Personal profile:

  • Ambitious professional with a Bachelor or Master degree.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the financial sector. 
  • Relationship-driven, people-oriented, capable to make connections, good in internal and external stakeholder management.
  • Commercial drive, ability to find out the preferences and needs of the client, solution focused. 
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills, strong team player. 
  • High level of drive, self-motivation and professional approach. 
  • Strong project, time management & deal execution skills. 
  • Preferably excellent financial, modelling & analytical skills, eye for detail. 
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and written. Fluency in other languages will be considered a plus.
