Your role and work environment:

The Tribe LeadPayments is responsible for defining and executing the vision and strategy for the Payments domain, ensuring an outstanding customer experience, maximizing payments profitability and complying with regulatory requirements. This role leads multiple squads within the tribe, fostering collaboration, innovation, and delivery excellence in an agile environment.

Your key responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Set a clear vision and roadmap for the Payments Tribe, aligned with organizational goals.

Represent the tribe in leadership forums and external regulatory bodies.

P&L focus

Understands and tracks all relevant payment levers (e.g. penetration, usage) and unitary costs

Acts on available levers to maximize payments P&L by defining new products, processes or prices

Customer Experience & Innovation:

Deliver best-in-class payment journeys for customers, with particular attention to service availability

Champion a customer-centric approach and leverage market insights to drive innovation.

People & Culture:

Build and lead high-performing squads, fostering collaboration and continuous learning.

Act as a role model for ING’s Orange Code and agile way of working.

Operational Excellence:

Oversee end-to-end delivery of payment solutions, ensuring quality and timely execution.

Manage dependencies across squads and other tribes, removing impediments.

Own associated Critical Business Services (CBS) to ensure Operational Resilience

Stakeholder Management:

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and industry bodies (Redsys, Bizum, Iberpay, Mastercard...). 

Particularly, collaborate with Daily Banking & Savings Tribe to ensure an outstanding experience in customers' daily banking activity

Contribute to the Global Payments community within ING by sharing best practices and supporting global led initiatives

Ensure alignment with risk, compliance, and technology teams.

Domain Expertise:

Deep understanding of payment systems, processes, and regulatory landscape.

Leadership:

Familiarity with modern payment technologies and integration (e.g., APIs, microservices).

Strategic Thinking:

Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Technology, or related field.

10+ years of experience in payments or financial services, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.

Strong track record in agile transformation and product delivery.

Tu rol y entorno de trabajo:

La persona Tribe Lead Payments será responsable de definir y ejecutar la visión y estrategia para el dominio de pagos, garantizando una experiencia excepcional para los/as clientes/as, maximizando la rentabilidad de pagos y cumpliendo con los requisitos regulatorios. Este rol lidera múltiples squads dentro del tribe, fomentando la colaboración, la innovación y la excelencia en la entrega en un entorno ágil.

Tus principales responsabilidades:

Liderazgo estratégico

Definir una visión clara y una hoja de ruta para el Payments Tribe, alineada con los objetivos organizacionales.

Representar al tribe en foros de liderazgo y organismos regulatorios externos.

Enfoque en P&L

Comprender y monitorizar todos los indicadores relevantes de pagos (p. ej., penetración, uso) y costes unitarios.

Actuar sobre los indicadores disponibles para maximizar el P&L de pagos mediante la definición de nuevos productos, procesos o precios.

Experiencia de cliente e innovación

Ofrecer recorridos de pago de primer nivel para los/as clientes/as, con especial atención a la disponibilidad del servicio.

Impulsar un enfoque centrado en los/as clientes/as y aprovechar insights del mercado para fomentar la innovación.

Personas y cultura

Construir y liderar squads de alto rendimiento, fomentando la colaboración y el aprendizaje continuo.

Actuar como referente del Orange Code y la forma de trabajo ágil de ING.

Excelencia operativa

Supervisar la entrega end-to-end de soluciones de pago, garantizando calidad y ejecución puntual.

Gestionar dependencias entre squads y otros tribes, eliminando impedimentos.

Ser responsable de los Critical Business Services (CBS) asociados para garantizar la resiliencia operativa.

Gestión de personas interesadas

Colaborar con personas interesadas internas y externas, incluyendo reguladores y organismos del sector (Redsys, Bizum, Iberpay, Mastercard…).

Colaborar especialmente con el Daily Banking & Savings Tribe para garantizar una experiencia excepcional en la actividad bancaria diaria de la clientela.

Contribuir a la comunidad global de pagos dentro de ING compartiendo buenas prácticas y apoyando iniciativas globales.

Garantizar la alineación con equipos de riesgo, cumplimiento y tecnología.

Experiencia en el dominio

Conocimiento profundo de sistemas de pago, procesos y entorno regulatorio.

Habilidades sólidas de acompañamiento y mentoría.

Conocimientos técnicos

Familiaridad con tecnologías modernas de pago e integración (p. ej., APIs, microservicios).

Pensamiento estratégico

Capacidad para definir una visión a largo plazo asegurando la entrega a corto plazo.

Gestión de personas interesadas

Excelentes habilidades de comunicación y construcción de relaciones en todos los niveles.

Experiencia y cualificaciones

Grado o máster en Negocios, Tecnología o área relacionada.

Más de 10 años de experiencia en pagos o servicios financieros, con al menos 5 años en roles de liderazgo.

Trayectoria sólida en transformación ágil y entrega de productos.
