Key Responsibilities

We deliver one complete and consistent source of truth of Finance and Risk data made available for analysis, accounting, and reporting through the data pipeline. We develop and support data management capabilities to execute and improve data and Data Management within ING. We support "running the bank" and business initiatives with the assets in the tribe.

The Tribe Granular Reporting (GR) provides correct and harmonized data for its processing and to enable the change from report-driven to data-driven, while also enabling department to manage its end-to-end data flow in a structured and standardized way.

What you will be doing:

In this role, you will focus on data management, data requirements, data definition & mapping, data onboarding and data modelling for business related background topics.

You will participate in a squad as a Business Analyst within Tribe GR. As an expert, you deliver the necessary knowledge and skills to make standard and best products/services for our data consumers. Besides that, you continuously deepen and broaden your knowledge and skills in your area of expertise within your chapter.

You will be actively involved in the maintenance, development and realization of current & new requirements and services. As an expert, you deliver the necessary knowledge and skills to support deliveries towards stakeholders, performing reconciliation, UAT and operational requests necessary for data delivery. Besides that, you continuously deepen and broaden your Data Quality and Data modeling knowledge and skills in your area of expertise.

Your activities will be in the following areas:

  • Analyze FED reporting requirements & internal reporting needs in close collaboration with ING colleagues in the USA.
    • Translate these requirements into clearly defined data needs and non-functional specifications.
    • Hands on knowledge of Financial Markets (FM) / Group Treasury (GT) and Lending products
  • Collaborate with data modelers and data engineers in the FRIDA team to facilitate the integration of data from various systems within the ING landscape.
  • Validate data to ensure compliance with both FED reporting and internal reporting standards.
  • Prior experience with FED reporting and familiarity with US accounting policies are highly advantageous.
  • Contribute to the development of UAT plans and the creation of comprehensive test scenarios.
  • Role requires a mindset and the ability to work across diverse teams to ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance throughout the reporting process. 
  • Some overlap with US time zone would help in collaboration with US colleagues.

Required Knowledge:

  • Sourcing, classifying & onboarding data for different business areas.
  • Knowledge of and experience within data management and analyzing large data sets and data quality.
  • Hands on proficient level of experience on SQL and MS Excel.
  • Understanding of Data Modelling, being able to interpret logical and conceptual data models and able to explain these models in a natural language.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Change delivery in an agile environment (impact analysis, configuration, testing).
  • Experience in Regression and User Acceptance testing.
  • Experience in building and maintaining data requirements regarding Statutory and Regulatory Reporting.

Skills:

  • Hands on proficient level experience on SQL and with MS excel
  • Ability of thorough understanding of logical Data Models and Modelling
  • Ability to (re)design and improve financial reporting business processes
  • Banking products knowledge from accounting and or financial regulatory reporting perspective
  • Working knowledge on Regulatory Reporting
  • Experience with functional UAT testing
  • Strong requirements management skills
  • Excellent Communication skills, written communication and power to convince
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Result driven and structured worker who is focused on the delivery and eager to work with details on Data quality and reporting
  • Strong team player, self-organizing and proactive with ability to connect, having positive growth mind-set, flexibility, focused on cooperation and sharing knowledge

Your education, experience and background

  • University (Bachelor’s/Master’s) degree in (business) economics or a comparable field.
  • Affinity with IT.
  • You like to work in a multidisciplinary squad.
  • You actively ask for help and feedback and are confident to give feedback.
  • You take responsibility to get the work done.
  • You easily adapt to new environments.
  • You continuously improve yourself and you help your colleagues in their development.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Agile way of working.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
