Technisch Datacenterspecialist

As a Technical Data Centre Specialist, you will be part of the technical operations team within Data Centre & Networks, which is part of Tech Infrastructure & Engineering. You contribute to the stability, safety, and continuity of the technical facility infrastructure in ING’s strategic Data Centres.

You will work closely with OPS2 and HAAS; together they form Global Data Centre Services (GDS). In this role, you help ensure that the environment relied upon daily by millions of ING customers remains secure, reliable, and resilient.

Your contribution

• At least MBO‑4 level of education or experience; HBO‑level working attitude and communication skills.

• Knowledge of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, measurement and control systems, and Data Centre infrastructures, with proven relevant work experience.

• Experience with contract management and knowledge of environmental, safety, and health regulations.

• Familiarity with standards such as NEN 2767, NEN 3140, ISO 27001, and ISO 50001.

• Strong communication skills.

• Excellent command of Dutch and basic proficiency in English.

• A service‑oriented, proactive, and positive mindset.

• Willingness to work outside office hours occasionally.

Nice to have

• Experience with technical data centre facilities (power, cooling, fire safety).

• Experience in mission‑critical environments.

• Experience with technical documentation, asset management, and compliance processes.

• A background in electrical or installation engineering is an advantage.

Working environment

You will join the OPS1 team, responsible for the technical facility infrastructure within ING’s data centres. You will work closely with OPS2 (data room facilities), DC CoE (advisory and knowledge centre), and HAAS (IT hardware). Together, they form Global Data Centre Services (GDS), which delivers data centre services to ING worldwide.

You will receive extensive onboarding and guidance in processes, procedures, and installations. Once you are able to work independently, you will operate in a dynamic environment with significant technical impact.

Als Technisch Datacenterspecialist maak je deel uit van het technisch‑operationele team binnen Data Centre & Networks (onderdeel van Tech Infrastructure & Engineering). Jouw bijdrage:

• Minimaal MBO‑4 werk‑ en denkniveau; HBO‑niveau in werkhouding en communicatieve vaardigheden.

• Kennis van werktuigbouwkunde, elektrotechniek, meet‑ en regeltechniek en datacenterinfrastructuren, met aantoonbare relevante werkervaring.

• Ervaring met contractbeheer en kennis van milieu-, veiligheid- en gezondheidsregelgeving.

• Bekendheid met normen zoals NEN 2767, NEN 3140, ISO 27001 en ISO 50001.

• Sterke communicatieve vaardigheden.

• Uitstekende beheersing van de Nederlandse taal en basisbeheersing van Engels.

• Servicegerichte, proactieve en positieve houding.

• Bereidheid om incidenteel buiten kantooruren te werken.

Pre's

• Ervaring met technische datacenterfaciliteiten (vermogen, koeling, brandveiligheid).

• Ervaring in mission‑critical omgevingen.

• Ervaring met technische documentatie, assetbeheer en complianceprocessen.

• Achtergrond in elektrotechniek of installatietechniek is een pluspunt.
