As Senior Health, Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator within ING Human Resources, you’ll be part of our People Services team, working closely alongside a team member to drive ING’s HSW agenda and building a positive WHS culture.  

Your responsibilities will include supporting the development and delivery of HSW training, policies, and systems, providing technical safety advice and conducting risk assessments. You will also provide expert SME support for workers compensation claims. A key part of the role is building strong stakeholder relationships, coaching Leaders, and partnering closely with HR Business Partners to ensure the effective management of WHS risks. 

This is an ideal career advancement opportunity for a WHS SME who enjoys hands-on coordination of safety networks, managing compliance with regulatory requirements, and advising on complex health and wellbeing cases. You’ll experience variety and challenge through a mix of HSW initiatives, management of communication channels, partnering, reporting, and delegate at times for our HSW Manager.  

We’re looking for someone with a growth mind-set, a commitment to continuous learning, and ideally, industry knowledge that will contribute to and add value to our broader HR and global programs.

What you’ll do

  • Manage workers’ compensation claims and stakeholder relationships.  
  • Provide technical advisory on workplace safety, risk assessments, and incident response.  
  • Develop and deliver HSW training, policies, and procedures.  
  • Coach leaders and stakeholders to manage safety risks.  
  • Coordinate safety networks and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.  
  • Drive HSW initiatives and contribute to broader HR programs. 

What we’re looking for

  • Excellent knowledge of WHS and workers’ compensation legislation. 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in health, safety, and wellbeing roles. 
  • Proven ability to lead initiatives and manage mental health-related cases. 
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. 
  • Exceptional project management, planning, and data reporting capabilities. 
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., WHS Certificate IV, RTW Coordinator); mental health credentials advantageous.
