The team
The Transition Accelerator (“TA”) team is a sector team within ING’s Wholesale Banking division. The newly formed team acts to mobilise capital for new sustainable technologies and markets. TA is focused on the following emerging industries which are critical to the development of the new value chains required for a sustainable economy:

Roles and responsibilities

We focus on mobilising capital, whereby we conduct research to understand the project, technology and market, we perform credit and financial analysis to determine if a project is ‘bankable’, and work with lawyers to negotiate the loan documentation. ING TA team is offering internships for talented students who are in the final phase of their bachelor, master study or MBA.

  • Conducting research into important transition technologies and indu stries andpresent your findings to the team.
  • Assisting with the origination of new business opportunities, for example bypreparing client pitch materials, in cooperation with team members.
  • Assisting with timely execution of transactions, working with internalstakeholders throughout the deal chain, for example, Risk Management, CorporateFinance, and Legal.
  • Supporting the team in the project management of important internalprocesses, such as committee meetings and Know Your Customer (“KYC”) checks.


How to succeed

  • Registered as a student at a university in the EU, note: non-EU applicants studying in the EU must be registered at a Dutch university due to visa restrictions
  • Result-driven candidates that have strong analytical skills and attention to detail, combined with excellent presentation and communication skills
  • You have a high proficiency in English (both spoken and written)
  • Are intrinsically motivated to make a positive impact on society through your work
  • Are an energetic, motivating person who can work as part of a multidisciplinary team and who can also work independently, think and act creatively, and – above all – gets things done
  • Financial knowledge is not a prerequisite, but having some affinity with the financial services sector is important.
  • Most importantly: you have a curious mindset and are eager to learn!
