At ING, we have bold ambitions to safeguard our customers as they bank in an increasingly digital world. Fraud is evolving rapidly, regulations are tightening, and customer expectations around security continue to rise. To keep our customers safe, we build a new Global Fraud organization and need strong strategic leadership, robust fraud capabilities and a clear global direction.

To deliver on our ambitious customer protection strategy, ING is establishing a new Global Fraud Preprocessing & Sensors product — a foundational part of our Fraud Detection Platform.

This product is responsible for defining the sensor strategy, shaping the architecture, selecting and integrating internal and external data sources, and scaling this portfolio of fraud signals that power real‑time detection across countries. In parallel, it operates and evolves a global suite of Fraud APIs that other products depend on.

This products sits at the heart of fraud detection: high‑stakes, high‑scale, and with direct impact on customer safety.

Therefore, we will start a team fraud preprocessing & sensors. The team is newly established. This creates a unique opportunity for the new lead to shape the foundation, drive early impact, and help define how the team evolves. As Product Lead, you build and own this capability from the ground up

To put it short, the Product Lead is a position where all elements of a product come together, the what and the how, with an end-to-end responsibility. You work not only on delivery and on how we run a product, but also on creating a vision on how we create it, how we manage the business value and how we deliver a differentiating customer experience. The Product Lead ensures alignment with ING strategy to globalize, standardize and productise the digital products. Therefore, we need someone who can contribute to a continuous, emerging, all-round product vision covering all elements of the product life cycle, with the ultimate goal to increase customer impact.

You do that by steering squads who work on the product by providing them with a strategic direction, by coaching them on the job, defining the product roadmap and by managing stakeholders around the product. The people who work in the squads report hierarchically to you, which means it is your job to empower them to thrive and perform at their best. You set direction, you help them to develop their craftsmanship, and you have continuous conversations about their career development.

We are looking for you if you:

A strategic, analytical and adaptive leader with expertise in fraud detection or data management and a passion for customer protection. Someone who can:

  • Learn quickly about the fraud detection challenges
  • Think strategically while acting swiftly when new fraud threats emerge.
  • Translate future opportunities for the fraud detection domain into concrete strategies.
  • Set direction and drive decisions at senior level, aligning stakeholders across countries and domains, while showing cultural sensitivity and global thinking
  • Navigate complex regulatory, privacy, business and Tech organizational environments.
  • Have at least 5 years of relevant experience in for example fraud, data management, payments, digital process design or change management
  • Have strong analytical skills and the ability to explain complex matters simply.
  • Have an affinity with IT.
  • Have strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Have an innovation mindset, with the ability to scale successfully within a global context.
  • Embody the Orange Code, demonstrate a strong "can-do" mentality, and bring energy, resilience and ownership to complex global challenges.
  • Stay curious — keep learning, take responsibility, and develop yourself into the next version of your professional best.
  • Have an excellent command of English.

Your responsibilities:

  • Own a product (end-to-end), which means you are accountable for the product vision, including functionality, technology
  • Take collective ownership of the product, including engineering and architecture aspects
  • Stay ahead of external market developments, relevant fraud trends, regulatory requirements and technology innovations.
  • Perform analyses to stay on top of market trends
  • Organize gap analysis and drive improvement roadmaps in all countries.
  • Define the strategic roadmap of the product to maximize business value through ordering and prioritization of the strategic product backlog, under consideration of relevant stakeholder needs.
  • Manage global deliverables through QBR cycles and product roadmap prioritization (both on functional as non-functional requirements as risks, reliability, IT Run, LCM)
  • Focus on delivery through collaboration, bringing people together to work towards the same purpose. 
  • Are able to take responsibility, steer strategy and realisations based on facts and data; and have managerial courage to question and make decisions. 
  • Are the IT asset owner, risk manager, data owner for the product and accepts test results and approves (IT) changes on the product
  • Are the hierarchical manager of a team of Customer Journey Experts, working in multiple squads organized around your product.
  • Build the craftsmanship of the employees in the team in line with the strategy of the Tribe and Area.
  • Protect ING and its customers, reduce fraud losses, mitigate risk exposure and strengthen customer trust.
  • Work closely with stakeholders in COO, Tech, Retail, Risk, CSI, KYC and local Fraud and Digital teams.

Information about the team:

As Product Lead Preprocessing and Sensors you report hierarchically to the Area Lead Global Fraud Detection where multiple fraud detection leads and products come together. As Product Lead you are also responsible for the IT delivery and as such you will work closely together with Tech. The team is newly established. This creates a unique opportunity for the new lead to shape the foundation, drive early impact, and help define how the team evolves. The team is located in different countries.

As Product Lead you work with different stakeholders in COO, Retail, Risk, KYC and local fraud leads and other relevant stakeholders in the countries. The role naming convention in the global ING job architecture will be “Product Lead Digital I"

The financial ranges specified in the announcement are adjusted and may differ from the range specified in the remuneration regulations.
