Your role & work environment

As a Lead of Finance Advice Cost, you report to the Head of CoE Cost Management & Advice.

You lead a team of experts, who have the same or related purpose to gather, analyze, interpret, and report financial and managerial data for the cost control of the various departments of the bank.

You lead the process of setting business targets, you coordinate the budget round, monitor business performance and advise on the financial consequences of major decisions.

You also lead the process of reporting financial and managerial data and make recommendations targeted at improving and safeguarding financial results.

Your day-to-day

You contribute to the strategy definition of ING Belgium for the cost and FTE evolution. You review and validate the strategic business cases. You maintain a strong cost discipline throughout the bank and across all business lines.

You are responsible for the delivery of the Management accounting actuals process for expenses and FTE and of the Rolling Forecast and Dynamic plan process.

You provide finance advice to Exco members and senior managers with regard to the cost and FTE development of the Bank. You work hand in hand with the Finance Business Advice function steering the total Bank’s performance. You maintain a strong relationship with the Group Finance function.

You execute the strategic changes defined in the Finance roadmap for Management Accounting (application development, sourcing,..). Based on the needs, you set the priorities and define requirements for changes in your domain. 

You lead and coach a team of Finance Advice experts. You communicate the strategy of the bank and set the standards for their expertise area and take responsibility for developing, innovating, and safeguarding knowledge in the field of expertise. You motivate, attract and maintain qualitative specialized staffing via coaching, knowledge and performance management.

As the Lead of Finance Advice Cost you also need:

  • a relevant Master level

  • fluency in French or Dutch and English

  • minimum 10-year experience in a finance, transformation or analytical domain, including managerial roles and preferably with banking orientation

  • strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data into sound & clear advice

  • demonstrated experience in high impact leadership

  • effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • comfortable operating in complex, multi-stakeholder environments and influencing at C-level
