Business Unit Manager - Finance (Office of the CFO)

In this newly created position, we are offering a suitably qualified Business Manager an opportunity to take on the role of partner and trusted advisor to the CFO, driving execution of the Finance function's priorities and ensuring the department operates effectively, efficiently and in alignment with enterprise objectives. As a member of the Finance Leadership team and central point of coordination this key, senior role plays a key role in aligning the business unit strategic priorities, regulatory obligations and operational activities.

What you’ll do

  • Own the Finance business management framework, including strategic planning, performance management, governance and operational effectiveness.

  • Translate the Finance team strategy into executable plans, monitoring progress against objectives and organisational priorities and alignment.

  • In cooperation with Comms; support the CFO in internal communications in relation to Finance,  both within the CFO domain and enterprise wide

  • Lead financial and workforce planning activities for the Finance function, including budget management, forecasting and resource planning.

  • Act as delegate for the CFO where required, representing the function with credibility and influence.

  • Foster strong risk and control governance

  • Manage the annual planning cycle, business performance reviews, people cycle activities and governance calendar

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance effectiveness, efficiency and employee experience across Finance.

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualifications in Finance, Commerce or related area

  • Several years experience as a Business Manager or COS profile role, ideally accompanied with experience in Financial Services

  • Hands-on, project management, continuous improvements and initiatives skills

  • Data savvy, including financial management, forecasting and budgeting

  • Sound knowledge of financial services processes, systems and products

  • High proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Sound judgement in complex and ambiguous situations

  • Strong stakeholder management skills to Exco+ level
