At ING Australia, we’re all about making life simpler and more rewarding – for our customers, our people, and the communities we support. Joining ING means stepping into an environment where your individuality isn’t just welcomed – it’s celebrated. We’ve built a culture that’s fun, inclusive, and supportive, giving you the freedom to do your thing and grow your career.

The role reports to Red Team Lead. As a Senior Penetration Tester with a red team focus, you lead and execute advanced adversary simulation engagements that replicate real-world threat actor tactics against enterprise environments.

Your responsibilities include planning, executing, and reporting on red team operations, while contributing to the development of offensive tools, infrastructure, and methodologies.

Ready to make an impact?

What you’ll do …

  • Plan and execute full-scope red team engagements simulating advanced persistent threats (APTs).

  • Develop and maintain custom tools, payloads, and infrastructure to support stealth operations.

  • Perform reconnaissance, initial access, lateral movement, privilege escalation, and data exfiltration in controlled environments.

  • Conduct targeted penetration tests across web, infrastructure, cloud, and hybrid environments.

  • Deliver detailed technical reports with risk-based remediation guidance.

What we’re looking for…

  • Strong technical expertise with C2 frameworks, detection evasion techniques, OPSEC best practices, and offensive operations in cloud environments.

  • Ability to develop or customize offensive tooling to support advanced adversary simulations.

  • 5–8 years of experience in offensive security, including at least 2 years as a key red team member simulating real-world threats.

  • Proven experience collaborating with cyber defence teams (SOC, Incident Response, Threat Intelligence) to align offensive activities with detection and response capabilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, with relevant offensive security certifications is essential (CREST, OSCP, CRTO or similar)

What’s in it for you?

  • Discounted ING Health Insurance.

  • An additional Rest Day to support your wellbeing.

  • An IMPACT Day to volunteer on approved sustainability activity.
