Ich möchte mich bewerben

At ING, we’re all about making banking simpler so people can spend more time doing the things that matter most to them. As one of Australia’s most recommended banks, we're committed to helping our customers stay a step ahead while fostering a workplace where our people can grow, contribute, and be themselves.

We're looking for a Financial Crime Compliance Officer – Transaction Monitoring Analyst to join our Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) team. You'll be responsible for investigating potentially suspicious activity, assessing complex financial crime risks, and preparing high-quality regulatory reports that help identify and disrupt criminal behaviour.

This is an opportunity for an experienced AML professional to apply their investigative expertise, influence risk outcomes, and contribute to continuous improvement across the financial crime framework.

This is a permanent role based in Sydney.

What you’ll do

  • Review and assess transaction monitoring cases escalated from Line 1 teams and other internal and external sources to identify potentially suspicious activity.
  • Conduct detailed investigations, customer profiling, and transactional analysis to form evidence-based conclusions.
  • Draft clear, concise, and high-quality Grounds for Suspicion (GFS) reports and prepare Suspicious Matter Reports (SMRs) for regulatory submission.
  • Act as a key reviewer and decision-maker, ensuring investigations meet regulatory requirements, quality standards, and service level expectations.
  • Support training initiatives, knowledge sharing, and capability development across onshore and offshore teams.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve operational effectiveness, and strengthen ING's financial crime controls

What we’re looking for

  • Demonstrated experience in AML/CTF or Financial Crime investigations within banking or financial services.
  • Hands-on experience drafting Suspicious Matter Reports (SMRs) and completing Grounds for Suspicion (GFS) assessments.
  • Strong understanding of Australian AML/CTF legislation, regulatory obligations, and financial crime risk management.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex information and make sound risk-based decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate findings and recommendations.
  • A proactive mindset with the confidence to work independently, manage competing priorities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

What’s in it for you?

  • Discounted ING Health Insurance
  • An additional Rest Day to support your wellbeing
  • An IMPACT day to volunteer on approved sustainability activity
