Aplicar

ING Sustainable Investments is looking for a Director to drive its expansion into Impact Investments

Your role and work environment:

Are you passionate about Impact investing? A growing number of companies have adopted impact strategies to contribute to people and the planet as well as ensure their long-term profitability. Innovation and new models are emerging within (health)care & well-being, inclusive real estate and financial health concepts as well as new technologies within healthy food and food & feed security. These concepts require in-depth assessments and frequently these impactual companies need growth capital and creative structuring solutions to realize their impact ambitions. Ultimately this results in solid impact investments that over time will contribute to people, planet and profit.

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Director with relevant experience to originate impact investments in this dynamic environment. Do you have the relevant experience, a commercial antenna, excellent presentation skills and in-depth Impact knowledge? Then you can be part of our team!

Who are we?

The Impact Investments mandate will be part of Sustainable Investments, which in turn is part of the wider Corporate Investments department. This department is responsible for higher risk bearing financing and investments by ING. The product offering ranges from subordinated (convertible) debt to minority equity investments. We are active across a broad range of sectors and geographies, and we invest at various stages of the lifecycle. We pride ourselves on our creative approach and our ability to deliver unique & tailored solutions to ING clients and prospects.

Our mission is to align economic growth with measurable impact, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). You will become part of a team with a strong mandate to grow; we aim to triple our Assets under Management in the coming years. Our team culture is characterized by ambition and a drive to perform, and equally important by having a passion in what we do, together as a team and with respect for each individual.

Your key responsibilities

As a Director of Impact Investments, you will be responsible and instrumental in expanding our Impact investment footprint. This includes originating, structuring, and executing investment & financing opportunities. The initial geographical focus is the Benelux and will over time be expanded to other markets of ING. In this role, you will also manage existing client relationships and identified prospects, working closely with the Capital Markets & Advisory, Sector, and Lending teams in the Benelux and collaborating with our execution pool in Amsterdam. Furthermore, you will be the point of contact and subject matter expert in this field.

What are we looking for?

Next to a relevant (post)graduate degree for this role, you will have at least ten years of relevant working experience and fluency in both Dutch and English. The role requires substantial experience in impact investing as well as the broader ESG market as well as demonstrable understanding of all instruments across the capital structure. Supplemental experience in topics concerning positive impact resulting from healthy foods and food & feed security are beneficial and a plus.

To be successful you should have a proven track record of originating proprietary transactions, as well as the ability to execute complex structures, steer detailed financial modelling, valuation and due diligence exercises. You have excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, as well as a high degree of integrity and professionalism. The values and behaviors of the ING Orange Code are naturally close to you, and you are as much focused on your own success as on the success of the teams you are a part of.

You will be expected to stay abreast of market trends and regulatory changes, develop and maintain relationships with intermediaries, co-investors, and portfolio companies, and contribute to the overall strategy and vision of the ING CI team and ING’s Impact investing goals and targets.
