Wholesale Banking Change Expert Internship

Organisational context

You are part of the COO Tech & Transformation organisation. You will be a member of one of the expert teams who report into the Head of Global Change & Transformation (C&T) Capabilities.

You will work closely with experienced change experts and consultants and learn how ING delivers important change initiatives across Wholesale Banking.

You will join the Expert Team Financial Markets / Group Treasury. The team consists of 10 colleagues who work on global change initiatives that support ING’s strategic objectives and external commitments.

As part of this internship, you will also be introduced to ING’s broader change community and learn how change professionals collaborate across ING’s international network.

What you will do:

  • Support a senior Change Expert in the delivery of strategic change initiatives and gain practical experience in programme and project management.

  • Learn how change experts coordinate complex change across countries, business lines and functions, with a focus on clear execution, planning and adherence to ING’s global standards.

  • Help create transparency on progress, dependencies, risks and actions, and support the preparation of stakeholder meetings, decision making and follow up.

What we are looking for:

  • A motivated student with a strong interest in change management, transformation, financial services or project delivery.

  • Interest in Wholesale Banking, Financial Markets or Group Treasury. Prior knowledge of banking, IT or data driven delivery is a plus, but not required.

  • Curiosity to work in an international environment and collaborate with colleagues across different countries, teams and cultures.

  • Ability to structure information, analyse input, prepare clear materials and support the coordination of project activities from planning to follow up.

  • A learning mindset and the confidence to ask questions, share observations and contribute ideas.

  • Comfort with working on topics that may be new or complex, and the ability to stay organised when priorities change.

  • Proactive attitude, a practical can do mentality and sensitivity to working in a large organisation.

  • An open, international and growth oriented mindset.

  • Motivation to learn how professional change management is applied within a global bank.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with colleagues and stakeholders.

  • Excellent level of English

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s programme, preferably in business administration, economics, finance, technology, change management or a related field.

Rewards and benefits
This is a great opportunity to train with highly skilled people who are experts in their field. You’ll do a lot and learn a lot – not only about your specialist area and the bank, but also about yourself and whether this type of environment is right for you.

You’ll also benefit from:

  • Internship allowance of 700 EUR based on 36 hours work week

  • Your own work laptop

  • Opportunity to work on impactful, real-world use cases within ING

  • Exposure to both data science and banking risk domains

  • A collaborative and innovative work environment

  • Guidance from experienced professionals in both risk and data science

During the duration of your internship at ING, it is mandatory to be enrolled at a Dutch university (or EU-university for EU passport holders).
