ING Hubs Poland is hiring!

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Offensive Security Trainee to support our team (Offensive Security Center of Expertise at ING Hubs Poland) for 4 months.

This opportunity is designed for university students passionate about cybersecurity and ethical hacking who want to gain hands-on experience in offensive security. As a trainee, you will work closely with experienced security professionals, supporting penetration testing activities and learning how to identify and assess security vulnerabilities across applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments.

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree (or being a part-time student) in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Readiness to work full-time (40 hours a week, 8:00-16:00)
  • Strong interest in cybersecurity, ethical hacking, and offensive security,
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and web technologies,
  • Basic knowledge of common security vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10),
  • Familiarity with Linux, Windows, and command-line environments,
  • Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills,
  • Eagerness to learn and develop technical skills,
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

You'll get extra points for:

  • Participation in Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions,
  • Personal cybersecurity projects or home lab experience,
  • Familiarity with tools such as Burp Suite, Nmap, Wireshark, Metasploit, or OWASP ZAP,
  • Basic scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages,
  • Contributions to open-source security projects,
  • Participation in university cybersecurity clubs or communities,
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud,
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a passion for learning about offensive security.

Your responsibilities:

  • Support penetration testing activities under the guidance of senior pentesters,
  • Assist in vulnerability identification, validation, and documentation,
  • Learn and apply penetration testing methodologies, tools, and best practices,
  • Participate in security assessments of web applications, APIs, infrastructure, and cloud environments,
  • Help prepare security assessment reports and remediation recommendations,
  • Research emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques,
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of security testing tools and scripts,
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand security requirements and best practices,
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions, training, and offensive security exercises.

Information about the Team:
As a member of our global CISO Attack Surface Management, you will join the Offensive Security Center of Expertise (CoE), which plays a key role in proactively identifying security risks across the organization. This is a strategic initiative for the company, focused on enhancing cyber resilience through advanced assessments, penetration testing and red teaming. You will work in a modern, international environment with access to the latest tools and technologies.

The role naming convention in the global ING job architecture will be “Intern I”.

The financial ranges specified in the announcement are adjusted and may differ from the range specified in the remuneration regulations.
