About the position:

This is a senior lending and client-facing role within the front office.  The primary job responsibility is the execution of new TMT transactions in collaboration with the sector coverage professionals.  The broader team is responsible for the execution of newly originated deals in a variety of sectors including Renewables & Power, Energy, Infrastructure, TMT. You will work very closely with senior management, sector originators, the loan distribution group and credit risk management. 

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Partner with ING’s sector bankers to support origination efforts, including loan execution, underwriting, and preparation of legal documentation for new transactions
  • Conduct initial deal screening, assess risk-return profiles, and perform market analysis to inform transaction selection
  • Lead and manage deal teams throughout the loan underwriting process, from credit approval through to closing
  • Perform detailed due diligence, oversee and contribute to the preparation of comprehensive credit applications and related supporting materials
  • Evaluate the financial strength of transactions via debt models and internal risk rating models
  • Review and negotiate financing documents and key project agreements
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical development to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in project/corporate finance experience, preferably within the North American TMT Sector. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required; MBA is a strong plus
  • In-depth knowledge of the project finance market including debt and equity structures
  • Proven track record in structuring and executing TMT transactions within corporate or investment banking
  • Strong financial and credit analysis skills with ability to synthesize thematic ideas and recommend investment actions
  • Advanced financial modeling capabilities, including building 3-statement financial projections and debt-sizing frameworks, as well as adapting existing models for scenario analysis
  • Strong understanding of key financial markets and products, corporate, project and bankruptcy law
  • Exceptional communication skills—written, verbal, and presentation—with keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective leadership and mentoring abilities with a passion for developing junior team members
  • Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple high-priority projects and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Self-driven, collaborative team player with a track record of producing consistently high-quality, high-volume output

Salary Range: $250,000 - $300,000
