  • Provide input into the annual Compliance Plan, ensuring significant risks and regulatory themes are appropriately identified and incorporated.
  • Engage closely with business stakeholders to present findings, agree on remediation actions, and monitor progress through to closure.
  • Support compliance governance activities, including oversight of compliance events and issues, and contribute to reporting for senior management, risk committees, and Board packs.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of ING’s compliance framework, policies, tools, and templates.
  • Support a strong compliance culture through coaching and mentoring junior team members, and participation in compliance training and awareness initiatives.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and broader deliverables across the Monitoring & Quality Assurance and Compliance teams.

What we’re looking for

  • Degree qualified in accounting, commerce, law, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience in financial services, with strong exposure to compliance, risk management, audit, or assurance.
  • Solid understanding of Australian legal, regulatory, and industry code obligations relevant to banking.
  • Proven experience in control testing, performing assurance reviews, and assessing compliance with regulatory and policy obligations.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to research, interpret, and assess compliance requirements, identify issues, and develop practical improvement recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, factual review reports and engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and support change across the business.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, experience with OpenPages, TeamMate, or similar tools is advantageous.
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement and ethical banking.

What’s in it for you?
