As part of the development towards a “Next Generation Digital Banking Platform”, ING is renewing the Data Management capabilities globally. The Tribe Data Management is building an integrated data management platform for Netherlands organization.

We're looking for a talented DevOps Engineer to join our Data Platform team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining our data infrastructure while ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.

Our Team

As a DevOps engineer you will be part of an Agile platform team of around 10 engineers. The team is maintaining the ETL (IBM InfoSphere), Oracle Exadata and Cloudera Flow Manager software appliances. The team is responsible for lifecycle management, monitoring the operational health of the systems as well as solving issues and handling requests from the stakeholders and ETL development teams.

Day to day activities include resolving incoming incidents, setting up configurations for data ingestion, improving the operational status of our Linux servers and databases.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Maintain different components of software suite package. E.g. LDAP connection strings, heap size, security and user access management
  • Act as System administrator for RHEL, Windows and Oracle platforms
  • Addressing and resolving issues/bugs that are reported, finding ways of preventing them
  • Working with monitoring tools and alerting tools
  • Creating automation solutions for both the platform and development teams
  • Connecting to the teams within the department and understanding their needs and changing them into features.
  • Taking security in high regard when you develop new releases.

  • Experience:3-5 years in IT platform and software appliances landscape
  • Tech stack/ knowledge:
  • Mandatory:
  • Programming / scripting knowledge suited for pipelines like YAML, Python, Visual basic and shell scripting.
  • Administrator experience on platform appliances and Linux (RHEL)
  • Windows Operating systems Oracle, SQL Server or similar database knowledge Experience with Monitoring as a Service Stakeholder management for translating needs into features
  • Nice to have
  • Experience with CI-CD tooling, e.g Azure DevOps
  • Knowledge of ETL processes Experience with IBM Infosphere
  • Cloudera Flow Manager Understanding Data Warehousing on a platform level.
  • Foreign languages: English (advanced)
  • Education: Education at Bachelor/Master level with a strong analytical background, in Computer Science, Cybernetics, Software Engineering, Financial Engineering or equivalent
