We are seeking a strategic and forward-thinking professional to join ING’s Business Banking division as Manager, Business Banking Strategy, Planning & Innovation.

This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape the future of business banking by driving strategic planning, innovation, and performance management initiatives. Reporting to the Business Development Lead, you will play a key role in integrating emerging technologies, including AI, into core business strategies, while supporting high-impact decision-making across the organisation.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the development and execution of annual strategy, business planning, and budgeting processes across Business Banking, ensuring alignment with broader organisational goals.
  • Leading development of AI strategy & roadmap, drive innovation and AI integration by identifying and implementing strategic and tactical initiatives / use cases to increase speed, drive acquisition, efficiency, creativity, etc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to set up, pilot and scale innovation & AI change initiatives across domains – Tech / Operations / Marketing / etc.
  • Support ad hoc projects and initiatives, including market opportunity assessments, business case development, support strategic investment decisions, cost optimisation reviews, and strategic partnerships.
  • Deliver timely performance analysis, reporting, and insights to inform leadership decisions and support achievement of key business targets.
  • Provide strategic input into executive and board-level presentations, workshops, and reviews, representing Business Banking in high-impact forums.

What we’re looking for

  • A strategic thinker with 6+ years’ experience in retail banking or financial services, and 2+ years in a strategy or innovation-focused role.
  • Ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable innovation & AI initiatives, leveraging emerging technologies.
  • Experience with generating, piloting, and scaling innovative ideas.
  • Exceptional analytical and commercial acumen, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Proven experience in business case development, market analysis, and performance reporting, ideally with exposure to AI and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across diverse teams and senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated capability in leading cross-functional initiatives, managing competing priorities, and driving innovation in a dynamic environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, or a related field, with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualisation tools.
