The Capital and Liquidity Expertise Centre (CLEC) plays a central role in the execution of the Wholesale Banking strategy and is part of WB Transformation Office (CTO). CLEC consists of 5 teams:

1. Delegated Model Owners

2. WB Portfolio Tribe

3. Capital Treasury

4. Pricing & Analytics

5. Funding & Liquidity.

The WB Portfolio Tribe (WBPT) focuses on ensuring that ING's regulatory corporate credit risk models, including IFRS9 models within Wholesale Banking, are fit for purpose, carry regulatory consent and support the Wholesale Banking decision-making processes. The WB Portfolio Tribe works with squad specialists from Model Development, COORF, Transactional Risk, Global Credit Restructuring (GCR) and Front Office departments.

Who are we looking for?

CLEC WBPT is looking for a Customer Journey Expert within the Loss Given Default (LGD) data squad. The squad focuses on ensuring complete and correct LGD related data for modelling purposes starting from data capturing to data delivery via Cost & Recovery tool and LGD Lab.

What does your role entail?

The role is twofold as it is focused on historical cashflow data remediation for closed default cases and includes a control function for current default cases. You will be part of a team which is performing these activities for the WB portfolio. You are responsible for ensuring data completeness and correctness for all default cases, historical and current default cases. You support GCR account management in registering all required Cost & Recovery (C&R) information.

Additionally, you assist the regional Restructuring Units of ING and local Front Office (FO) offices to adhere to the C&R data requirement. Also, the team is involved in the semi-annual participation of ING in the Global Credit Data LGD data pools (in cooperation with Risk COO).

Your new role and responsibilities

You perform historical data remediation for default cases within the Wholesale Banking portfolio (including Large Corporates, Commercial Property Finance, Project Finance, Lease, Trade Commodity Finance, Object Finance).You work in a team of experts which are all involved in ensuring complete and correct C&R data for current default cases in the WB portfolio in LGD lab (via standalone C&R tool). You closely interact with your colleagues within the WBPT, who are using your remediated loss data, in order to build the WB credit risk models (for RWA, ECAP and IFRS9). You have regular interaction with the GCR account managers and FO involved for the respective (problem) loans. 

Your work environment

  • Your contribution has a significant impact on the quality and accuracy of ING's WB credit risk models, and therefore might have a significant impact on capital or risk costs.

Furthermore, you have:

  • Understanding of lending in terms of products, processes and documentation (e.g. loan documentation and collateral valuation reports).
  • Good affinity with ING local source systems in registering cashflows
  • Strong analytical skills, experience and/or clear affinity with data/gap analysis
  • Good communication skills, excellent command of English
  • Initiative, pro-active in picking up tasks
  • Understanding of credit/restructuring procedures and related systems, tools (e.g. Risk Rater, Vortex, i-Care, LGD lab)
  • Organised, providing structure and maintaining focus on the full picture.
  • Flexibility, can work independently but is also a team player.
  • Good with numbers and able to work with Excel.
  • An affinity with SAS Enterprise Guide
