In the Cloud tribe, in the Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) area, the position of a senior engineer for Cyber Security Backup & Recovery has become available.

As a Senior Engineer in the Cyber Security Backup & Recovery squad, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining resilient backup and recovery solutions that safeguard ING against ransomware threats. You will work closely with Product Managers, Architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, automated, and compliant recovery capabilities for our global infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement advanced backup and recovery solutions, including immutable storage and air-gapped architectures.
Automate recovery processes to reduce manual intervention and improve speed and reliability.
Collaborate with Cyber Security, Risk, and Infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., DORA, NIS2).
Monitor system health and recovery readiness, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
Contribute to technical strategy and roadmap discussions, ensuring alignment with ING’s resilience objectives.
Document and communicate technical designs and operational procedures clearly to stakeholders.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering, backup/recovery solutions, or cybersecurity.
Strong knowledge of modern backup technologies, immutable storage, and recovery orchestration.
Familiarity with cloud environments (private/public) and global infrastructure platforms.
Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Ansible).
Agile mindset with hands-on experience in Scrum or SAFe methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment.
