The Mission

DealWise is ING’s rapidly expanding e-commerce and cashback platform, already live in 4 ING countries and scaling fast. Our platform is trusted by millions of customers across Europe, delivering exclusive deals, cashback rewards, and value-added services directly inside the ING ecosystem.

Built with a modern microservices architecture and powered by technologies such as Magento 2, Kafka, Redis, Docker, Azure, and MySQL, DealWise is designed for performance, scalability, and rapid market expansion.

We are looking for a Magento Developer to join our engineering team. You will play a crucial role in building, optimizing, and fine-tuning Magento, while collaborating with teams across microservices and domains to ensure a seamless experience for millions of ING customers.

Your day to day

• Develop, customize, and maintain the DealWise platform built on Magento 2.

• Fine-tune and optimize Magento performance (caching, indexing, database queries, profiling, Varnish/Redis configuration, front-end load times).

• Design and implement new features, extensions, and integrations with microservices.

• Collaborate with architects and engineers to align Magento modules with a Domain-Driven Design (DDD) approach.

• Work with Docker for containerized development and deployment pipelines.

• Integrate and consume Kafka events in an event-driven ecosystem.

• Manage Redis for caching and session management.

• Design and optimize MySQL databases in a high-traffic, multi-country setup.

• Deploy and scale workloads in Microsoft Azure (App Services, AKS, Event Hubs, Blob Storage).

• Ensure code quality, testing, and best practices across services.

• Monitor platform performance and continuously improve scalability and reliability.

What you bring to the team

• 3+ years of professional experience as a Magento Developer (Magento 2 preferred).

• Proven experience in fine-tuning Magento performance for large-scale environments.

• Strong PHP and JavaScript skills; Knockout.js, React, or Vue.js knowledge is a plus.

• Practical experience working with microservices architectures.

• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) concepts and how they apply to e-commerce.

• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized workflows.

• Familiarity with event-driven systems (Kafka or similar).

• Strong Redis knowledge for caching and session management.

• Advanced MySQL expertise (query optimization, indexing, schema design).

• Cloud experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, AKS, Event Hubs, Blob Storage).

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

• Ability to work effectively in an agile, international environment.

• Nice to Have

• Experience with REST APIs and GraphQL.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

• Knowledge of performance tuning for high-traffic, multi-country e-commerce platforms.

• Exposure to DDD patterns beyond e-commerce (user context, targeting, personalization).
