Organizational context:

Within Financial Crime Prevention (FCP) we see it as our purpose to stay ahead in preventing financial crime and to demonstrate our gatekeeper role to the financial system, covering the full scope of anti-money laundering and countering terrorist financing during the client life cycle. This includes customer onboarding, periodic and event driven reviews, name screening, pre-transaction screening and transaction monitoring.

By providing policies, standards, process design, tooling and operational delivery the FCP organisation contributes to our societal role as gatekeeper to safeguard our financial infrastructure against financial crime.

Our strategic direction brings our network together across 4 streams: Scalable operations, Strong technology, Smart processes & Skilled workforce. All streams are interconnected to support strategy implementation.

The department’s aim is to become an intelligence-led organization that uses data, information, and insights to make informed decisions, improving both the employee & customer experience.

To support the abovementioned, the objectives of the FCP PMO | Cockpit are:

  • A common FCP Strategy & shared bigger picture ensuring a clear link with the Global FCP Strategy and overall Strategy ING Belgium
  • Translating the Belgian FCP Strategy into execution initiatives and KPIs
  • Transparency and visibility with regards to key milestones and performance
  • Successful road management and program execution
  • Project management methodology & advise: Setting standards focussing on efficiency, consistency & proactivity and increase project management craftmanship
  • Gatekeeper of the Financial planning cycle and FCP budget
  • Driver of the agenda of different FCP Governance Bodies, ensuring the right prioritization and input to enable efficient discussions and decision making
  • Engaging communication to mobilize the energies of all FCP teams
  • Clear and easy accessible information
  • Providing training oversight and support to foster a culture of learning and development

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy: Lead the PMO team, providing guidance and support to project managers and team members, with strong connection to the FCP leadership and senior management

Project Oversight: Monitor the progress of key projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget. Identify & mitigate risks and resolve issues as they arise.

Program/Road management: Planning, executing, and finalizing FCP overarching or critical projects/programs according to strict deadlines and within budget.

Financial & Resource Planning & Reporting: Realize the Dynamic Plan for FCP and cost tracking. Responsible for Intercompany Contracting & Invoice management, and External Resources & Vendor management

Portfolio and Performance monitoring: Generate regular reports and coordinate reporting on FCP key metrics and communicate status, risks, and issues to stakeholders. Collaborate with senior leadership and (global & local) stakeholders to align performance objectives with business goals.

FCP communications and document management: Establish clear communication plans and timelines, maintain updated channels, ensure transparency & access to uniform information.

What we are looking for:

  • A highly organized, delivery-oriented lead who has the ability to manage multiple subjects/projects simultaneously
  • Proven experience in project management and leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • A team player with excellent collaboration skills who is critical (in a positive sense) of her / his own performance and that of others.

In addition, you have/are:

  • A Master degree or equivalent and minimum +5 years of relevant working experience;
  • Ability to inspire and convince stakeholders and teams across functions, bringing energy and drive.
  • Organizational sensitivity and a good understanding of the organisation, its ambition and strategy, as well as of banking processes in Belgium
  • Attention to detail and accuracy; high quality standards and skilled in preparing inspiring presentations and short and snappy briefings and reports in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • High resilience, the ability to deal with ambiguity and manage complexity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent level of English. French and Dutch language proficiency nice to have.
