Operations & Change Track – Drive Operational Excellence and Transformation in Banking

Are you a recent graduate or an early-career operations or change professional with big ambitions and a passion for shaping the future of banking? Join our 18-month International Talent Programme in the Operations & Change track—a development-focused journey designed to accelerate your growth into a future change leader or operational expert.

You’ll gain hands-on experience across strategic transformation domains, contribute to impactful projects to unite our processes, data, IT, and shared services, and collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation. Whether your passion lies in process optimisation, digitalisation, or customer journey improvement, this programme offers a tailored path to help you thrive.

What You’ll Bring – Core Competencies

No matter your specialisation, we’re looking for individuals who demonstrate:

  • Process & performance mindset: You’re driven by efficiency, optimisation, and standardisation, and have a strong interest in transforming operational processes.
  • Digital & data fluency: You’re comfortable working at the intersection of data, IT, and process design, and curious about how digital tools can improve customer and employee experiences.
  • Stakeholder engagement: You communicate easily across levels, manage stakeholders effectively, and bring structure and clarity to complex change initiatives.
  • Growth potential: You’re enthusiastic, hard-working, and humble, with international or extracurricular experience and a maximum of two years of professional experience. You’re fluent in English and eager to learn.

Choose Your Path – Explore Our Operations & Change Domains

The International Talent Programme (ITP) in Operations & Change consists of three rotations, each lasting six months. Over the course of 18 months, you’ll explore key areas of ING’s transformation and operational excellence.

You can indicate your preferences for your first rotation, allowing your trainee manager to match you with a suitable starting role. Many trainees also choose to go abroad for one of their rotations—especially valuable in this track given the international scope of ING’s operations.

After completing the programme, you’ll transition into a permanent role tailored to your interests. Potential roles include Road Manager, Business Consultant, Customer Journey Expert, Data Management Officer, or Operational Lead.

What We Offer – Your Growth Starts Here

We offer you a competitive base salary for this starter position, along with paid annual leave, a comprehensive training package, and a permanent contract from day one. As part of the International Talent Programme (ITP), you’ll gain exposure to strategic work across multiple domains, helping you build a strong foundation for your future career.

Throughout the programme, you’ll be part of a vibrant international trainee community, participating in global learning events that cover core banking topics. These events also help you develop essential soft skills like stakeholder management, business partnering, and presentation techniques.

In addition to these global events, we offer a wide range of training opportunities tailored to your personal development needs. These include sessions focused on leadership, personal growth, and professional certifications such as CFA. You’ll decide which trainings best support your goals, in consultation with your manager.

Above all, we provide an open and inclusive environment where your ideas are welcomed and valued. Our culture embraces innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement, all aimed at making banking simpler and more transparent for our customers.
