We started out in 2015 as ING’s software development hub – a distinct entity from ING Bank Romania – then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies.

Formerly known as ING Tech, as of 2022 we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities under the name of ING Hubs Romania and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj.

With the help of 1400 engineers, risk and operations professionals, we offer 150 services in tech, non-financial risk & compliance, audit and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide.

Our tech capabilities remain the core of our business, with more than 1100 colleagues active in Data Management, TouchPoint Channels & Integration and Core Banking.

The Mission

We are expanding our Open MetadataPlatformteam, as a part of ING Hubs. We arebuilding and operating a next generation data governance platform based on an open source projectODPiEgeria.  

As an DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible with developing, deploying, testing andoperating components ofOpen Metadata Platform that automatesmetadata services on global scale. 

Your day to day

Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:

  • Collaboration internationally from the Netherlands, Romania and other countries.
  • Designing and building architecture/infrastructure/securitysolutions with best practice in your mind.
  • Pooling and sharing of knowledge on new applications and technologies used
  • Deploy, manage and support our environments (dev, test, acceptance, production).
  • Contribute together with the rest of the team to continuous improvements
  • Agile way of working with a self-management mindset.
  • Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle.

What you’ll bring to the team

Experience

  • You are passionate about big data technologies and metadata world.
  • You are delivery-focused and communicative, and you enjoy working as part of a team.
  • You have a sense of initiative and are creative and solution-focused.
  • Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Able to master new material quickly and independently.
  • A team player with experience working collaboratively with clients in the development process.

Tech stack/ knowledge:

    • Mandatory:
  • You have at least 3-5 years of relevant work experience as adev/opsengineer and have worked in complex organizations delivering productionresilientready software
  • Knowledge of Javaenvironment (deploying Spring Boot applications, JVM configuration/tunning)
  • Experience with containers orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
  • Experience with Public Cloud providers (Azure)
  • Experience using and administrating log/event management tools and monitoring systems (ELK Stack,Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Experience with distributed & scalable databases: Cassandra
  • Good knowledge of Linux
  • Goodknowledgeofnetworking(e.g.Firewalling/IDS/IPS/NSG/NACL)
  • Goodknowledgeofsecuritytopics(e.g.Principleofleastprivilege,CIA-P,defenseindepth,Role-basedaccesscontrol)
  • Goodknowledgeofcertificate(Server,client,publickeys,privatekeys)
  • Good knowledge of scripting: Bash, Python
  • Good knowledge of infrastructure orchestration & automation tools: Ansible
  • Good knowledge of Apache Kafka message queue
    • Nice to have:
  • Experience working on Agile methodology 
  • Having experience in financial application development or metadata management is an asset
  • Familiar with continuous delivery, continuous integration, code quality (Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, Sonar)
  • Experience with Azure DevOps

Foreign languages:English (advanced)

Education: nice to have Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an IT related field
