Formerly known as ING Tech, as of 2022 we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities under the name of ING Hubs Romania and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.

With the help of over 1600 engineers, risk, and operations professionals, we offer 130 services in tech, non-financial risk & compliance, audit and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide.

Our tech capabilities remain the core of our business, with more than 1300 colleagues active in Data Management, TouchPoint Channels & Integration, Core Banking, and Global Products.

The Mission

Your mission will be to manage and steer a chapter of OPS engineers and Customer Journey Experts(acting as functional testers) that are part of BTP Platform Services domain, with specific focus on  OnePam Integration Layer product(OIL) part of Titans squad from OnePAM area.

In your new role as people manager, you will be required to support the vision and strategy of ING bank, with effective focus on BTP Platform Services strategy and planning.

While doing so, you are still required to perform your single contribution role as OPS engineer within the Titans squad

Your day to day

  • Building, coaching and development of the chapter(team).
  • Conduct performance appraisals with the team and follows up (administration, career management, performance management, etc.)
  • Ensure the individual development of your team members, so that they can successfully fulfill their roles.
  • Make proposals about remuneration policy and informs HR.
  • Supervise the general planning (schedules, holidays, etc.)
  • Provide the controls and information on what we are improving e.g. Performance management
  • Handle delivery – identify, manage, and escalate delivery issues and risks.
  • Stimulate a culture of  learning by doing (incremental)
  • Determine actions to avoid recurrent problems
  • Stimulate a continuous delivery culture in terms of services and working conditions.
  • Support the applications in production environment that are under your team’s portfolio.

What you’ll bring to the team

Experience:  minimum 3 years of experience working with RHEL 7/8

Tech stack/ knowledge:

Mandatory:

  • Azure DevOPS
  • Git
  • Ansible deployment tool
  • Agile Wow and Software development frameworks

Nice to have:

  • Kubernetes or Openshift is considered a plus
  • Experience with IT Risk is considered a plus
  • Management experience

Soft-skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – ability to explain technical solutions  to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You work in a meticulous and structured way
  • You are able to set up and follow a schedule
  • Strong resilience to stress and constructive and collaborative mindset
  • Willingness to support and coach less experienced members of you team; provide help when needed and criticize in a constructive manner
  • Willingness to continuously improve your technical skills.

Foreign languages: English (advanced)

Education: A University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Financial Engineering or equivalent.
