DevOps Engineer - Sybase

We are looking for you, if you have:

  • minimum of 2 years of experience in administering database systems - mainly Sybase and Oracle,
  • good knowledge of PostgreSQL,
  • good knowledge of administering Linux systems,
  • experience in installing and configuring database clusters,
  • experience in optimizing the operation of database clusters,
  • knowledge of mechanisms for making copies and restoring database systems Knowledge of database monitoring systems,
  • knowledge of writing and implementing SQL scripts,
  • knowledge of replication mechanisms,
  • practical knowledge of scripting languages (Bash / Python),
  • experience in troubleshooting (error analysis from the system to the database layer).

English level - B2

You'll get extra points for:

  • programming skills is a big plus (Python, PoweShell, Golang),
  • azure Piplines, Ansible,
  • ability to optimize code and infra,
  • understanding and practicing Reliable by Design.

  • You will have the opportunity to contribute in to those topic and help us build SRE in ING.

Information about the squad:

While working in our team you will be performing various tasks related to database administration in cloud environment - such as installation, configuration or performance analysis. The squad you are applying to aims at operational excellence by automation and optimisation of maintained processes by implementing IaC and SRE approach. Thus apart from ongoing operational tasks you will be having an opportunity to develop your programming skills based on Azure DevOps Pipeline, PowerShell or Python. The role naming convention in the global ING job architecture will be “Engineer III”.
