Expert – Global Sourcing & Category Expert (IT)



Are you ready for a new challenge in Procurement?We’rebuilding a brand-new team in ING Hubs Polandtosupport Global Procurement teamand looking for experienced professionals who want to work globally while staying connected locally.

We are looking forseveralsenior experts indifferentIT procurement fields: Software and SaaS,Hardware (Servers, Storage,Workplaces,Network,Data Centre equipment)and IT Services.

We are looking for you if you:

  • Masterdegree or equivalentpreferablyin a relevant field, such assupply chain, (computer) engineering,business administration, orfinance

  • Have 6-7years of experience inITProcurement area and preferably in an international financial services provider organization

  • Are experiencedsubject matter expertinstrategic sourcingand category managementinIT Procurementinat least oneof thedomains ofSoftware and SaaS, Hardware (Servers, Storage, Workplaces,Network,Data Centre equipment) and IT Services

  • Have strong negotiation skills based on data and facts,

  • You have experience inestablishingglobal purchasing agreementsdirectly withthe ITsuppliers (not via resellers)– drafting, reviewing, and negotiating,

  • Have an ability to build strong relationships withprocurement and businessstakeholders,

  • Are proactive, independent approach and a good grasp of working in international environments,

  • Demonstrated resilience and ability to manage ambiguity and complexity,

  • Demonstratedvery goodorganizational and communication skills, work in a multi-tasking environment, andability toprioritize tasks

  • Very goodEnglish skills (spoken and written) (B2/C1)

  • Very goodknowledge of Excel, PowerPoint,and E-Sourcing tools;experience withERPsystems or procurement tools is preferred

You'llget extra points for:

  • Certifications like CIPS or Nevi

  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g. DORA, EBA, GDPR)orFinancialindustry

  • Managedglobalsourcing projects in/for large international organizations

  • Expertiseincomplex contractingwith large softwarevendors orcore banking softwaresuppliers

Your responsibilities:

  • For assignedsuppliers(TIER 2),identifyglobal and local business needs,specificationsand requirements as inputfor sourcing projects, categorystrategyand ongoing management ofsupplierrelationships

  • Share knowledge with CategoryManager  todevelop and execute overarching forward looking global category strategy for suppliers (TIER2) in your scope

  • Collaborate with global business partners to understand strategic priorities, align on sub(category)strategyand ensure adherence to the ING Procurement Policy

  • Lead end to endglobale-sourcing initiatives (RFI, RFQ/RFP, e-auctions) includinggatheringglobalrequirements,market research, evaluate proposal, decision process (TCO analysis, scenario analysis, etc), conduct negotiation and awarding

  • Manage third-party risk securingcompliance with regulation and ING Policy and standards

  • Performsupplierrelationship management, performancemanagement, issuemanagementand resolution whilefacilitatingsupplier review and continuous improvement

  • SupportCategoryManagement with negotiations, selecting preferred suppliers andestablishingbuying channelswithin assignedscope.

  • Play a role as strategic contributor in fields like ESG, procurement best in class practice, cost savings initiatives

We areseekinga highly motivated and experiencedITGlobal Sourcing andCategoryExpertto join our international team. In this role, you will bepart ofthe GlobalTechProcurementCategory Team. The role will be accountable forbuilding (sub)category strategy, stakeholder alignment,researching the market, runningstrategic/complexsourcing events, managing suppliers, and negotiatingglobal frameworkcontracts. You willbe responsible forstrategicsourcing across assigned spend categories, managing contracts, and driving significant year-on-year cost improvements.
