The Head reports hierarchically to the Head of Wholesale Banking Luxembourg, and functionally to the Head of Lending BeLux.


Your key responsibilities

By example, with expertise, esprit, and a hand for networking – you lead your team, colleagues, and the overall Lending performance in Luxemburg to new levels of excellence in this role spanning across corporate lending, real estate and fund finance. As such, you drive and manage lending revenues, RWAs, and cost for the local Lending portfolio.

You drive the local Lending product proposition, are responsible for product quality and standardization whilst ensuring regulatory compliance at all times. With the customer experience in mind, you are a commercial excellence role model, bring knowledge sharing between teams to a new level, but also take charge of data quality of the local lending portfolio, and keep non-financial risk of the Lending product in Luxembourg under control.

Under your leadership, the Lending process will take new shapes whilst you will drive Lead Lending and focus on ensuring Wholesale Banking‘s Lending Sustainability targets will be met.

You are a dedicated team player, trusted partner to your stakeholders and employee engagement is close to your heart in your ambition to deliver the ING difference to our clients.

You ensure the team is always putting the customer at the forefront of their actions.


Your profile :

  • Academic degree / MBA in finance, economics, law or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Lending or a Lending related field in Wholesale Banking with a proven track record of origination capabilities and deal making. You spot business opportunities in your conversations with clients and organize pitches to generate business and reinforce ING’s competitive position.
  • Skilled in managing across different domains, naturally collaborative with ability to effectively operate within a matrix organization.
  • Strong commercial drive paired with sound risk awareness, credit judgement and analytical skills.
  • Great communication skills and organizational sensitivity with ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment and to embrace change.
  • Profound track record in driving employee engagement. You demonstrate your leadership skills by coaching, supporting, and developing your direct reports and by organizing effectively the team.
  • Result driven and looking for healthy growth of your portfolio revenues.
