The ING Think Forward Strategy aims to create a differentiating customer experience, enabled by simplifying and streamlining our organization, further striving for operational excellence, enhancing the performance culture within our company and expanding our banking capabilities. The Tribe Wholesale Data Management is a central component in the ING Think Forward Strategy. It has been established in the COO Domain to ensure that ING Wholesale Banking has trustable data which is fully fit for the purpose (timely, complete, accurate, adoptable, comprehensive, consistent and appropriate), facilitated by a state-of-the-art data architecture and IT infrastructure. The Tribe Wholesale Data Management is growing its team in the Philippines via ING’s Business Shared Services (IBSS) in Manila.

Within the Tribe, the Data Modeling Chapter is responsible for unifying the ingested data from various sources, modeling business concepts, analyzing data and data-patterns, gathering and analyzing requirements from consumers of the data. Next to this, collaboration with other Tribes on topics related to data and data management and design thinking is a key element in the job. The Tribe works in an Agile Way of Working, which gives great empowerment to all team members sharing a common purpose.

ING is looking to recruit a Data Modeler - Data Information Analyst within the Chapter. The team member will be responsible for the front-to-end analysis of the requirements from the various Regulatory and Business Initiatives. Together with the other members of the Chapter, the Data Modeler - Data Information Analyst investigates the data provided from the sources, analyses and profiles the data and aligns with the consuming side to map the information into ING’s shared data language and business terms.

If you are good at:

• Delivery of coding practices and automation while meeting quality criteria and project constraints
• Exploring and trying different methods to improve productivity and efficiency of the team
• Ensuring alignment to Chief Architect roadmaps and strategies
• Meeting service levels for systems (availability, security, and performance)
• Influencing the direction of the overall architecture
• Understanding public and private cloud concepts especially compute, network, storage and data
• Understanding cloud native application architectures and micro-services
• Providing critical attention to detail about code, troubleshooting, efficiency and design
• Developing and maintaining standards of software development, components, and release management
• Identifying and reducing technical debt

If you are:

• A Bachelor’s Degree holder in IT/ engineering or equivalent
• Experienced and have deep and applied knowledge on Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (2yrs+)
• Technical savvy and has strong computer software understanding
• Knowledgeable on Banking and Financial Services Industry
• An effective communicator – verbal and written
• Flexible in working alone or with others
• Taking ownership of all assigned tasks, systems and services assigned in production
• Proactive in promoting ‘Best Practices’
• Available for out of hours support as required

If you can:

• Understand Programming/ Scripting Language & Automation (Proficient in Python, Go, Perl, Shell; Chef/ Puppet/ Ansible, Terraform)
• Navigate on Web/ Application Servers (NGINX, JBOSS/ Spring Knowledge)
• Read and analyze RDBMS/ Data (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Indexing & partitioning, backups, replication, rapid provisioning of nodes)
• Grasp Continuous Integration/ Tooling (Git/ Gitflow, Trunk-base Development, Software Branching/ Merging Strategy, Artifactory/ Registry, Test automation, Code quality tools, builds per branch)
• Work on Cloud (AWS/ Azure/ Google, VPC’s, Object Storage, Cloud Security best practice)
• Do testing on tools (Web test automation, Load and performance Testing, Chaos Testing/ Engineering)
• Appreciate DevOps tools (Hashicorp toolset, Atlassian toolset)
