International Talent Programme – Wholesale Banking Track

ING offers you the chance to make the absolute most of your talent on a traineeship within the bank: the International Talent Programme (ITP). During the traineeship ING will invest in your future now to develop the leaders of tomorrow.

At the beginning of your traineeship you’ll rotate between different projects and departments within your track. After your rotations, you get to choose your long term position based on your experience and area of interest.

This is a comprehensive programme that provides talented graduates with the knowledge, skills and on-the-job experience to become ING’s future leaders. We offer you the chance to shape your own ideas about banking in a receptive environment.

The programme is truly international with over 100 trainees in 14 different countries. For each year of the programme there will be a global event designed as a bootcamp to develop your personal skill in the process.

Key responsibilities:

ING Wholesale Banking helps companies, institutions and governments around the world to gain access to capital in support of their success and further growth. We provide advice and financing for mergers and acquisitions and are also involved in our customers’ day-to-day financial transactions.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Analyst to join our WB Corporate Sector Lending Team that:

•           feels at ease with figures and financial analysis

•           pays attention to details and is driven by a search for quality in his/her work

•           is interested in structuring and negotiating credits with corporates or projects

•           is ready to face challenges and can go the extra mile when needed

•           enjoys working in a team and contributing to the team results

•           enjoys working in a learning environment

•           likes to work in an agile, international and start-up environment

What your first 6-month rotation will let you focus on

Your will be part of  WB – Lending team and your goal will be to: managing a portfolio of clients in all credit-related matters, with focus on origination and execution of new requests, but also taking responsibility for in life management. Structuring and leading the negotiation of the credit facilities (in partnership with the relationship manager) and the follow up of the implementation/documentation of new credit facilities in collaboration with legal counsels. Being responsible for the preparation of credit packages, and credit rating according to ING policy, and defend the credit request for approval to relevant approval mandate holders.Your first rotation will give you ample opportunity to expand your network within ING and practice your stakeholder management skills.

What about your second rotation

With these new experiences and contacts, you are in charge to arrange your second rotation (6 months). Now it comes down to addressing your network and taking the initiative, also for an international experience that could be relevant for your personal and professional development. 

Your second year
After two rotations, you now have a better understanding of which direction you would like to go and are ready to choose your third rotation. Are you broadening your knowledge within your track, or would you like to explore an area within another track? Both are an option for this rotation!

During your third rotation you’ll start networking for your fixed position. This permanent role lets you go deeper into the field of Wholesale Banking right from the start.

What we offer:

Global events. Access to yearly 2-3 weeks global events with other ING International Talent Programme talents from all around the world.

Job rotations. Insights in various business units during the first 18 months and work abroad into one of our ING countries for 3 - 6 months (if circumstances allow).

International onboarding. Following your local onboarding introduction, you will fly to our headquarters in Amsterdam for a one week-long international onboarding event (if circumstances allow).

Trainings & learning experiences in different business lines to boost your knowledge and skill set.

Mentoring. Experienced ING executives will support your personal and professional development through regular feedback and coaching.

What we’re looking for:

  • You have a Bachelor/Master degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Investment or Engineering

  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving

  • Has an interest in financial services, an innovative take on banking and an unconditional drive to turn your ideas into reality

  • You are enthusiastic and consider the interests of our customers and your colleagues

  • You act with integrity and responsibility.

  • You are fluent in English and Italian; foreign candidates have an advanced knowledge of Italian (at least B2)

  • You have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience

  • Previous experience within the Wholesale Banking domain either through internship or work experience will be considered as a plus
