DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Overview

Sales is responsible for distribution of fixed income, repo, derivatives, and other alternative investment products. We aim to deliver leading-edge solutions and flawless execution to our clients leveraging strong client relationships and deep product expertise.

Responsibilities

As a Sales professional, your tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with Institutional clients.  Among our clients are SWFs, Life insurers, Property & Casualty insurers, Mutual Aids/Pensions, Asset Managers, Securities firms, etc.). Collaborate with Relationship Managers on commercial opportunities when necessary.
  • Drive client portfolio growth by strategically positioning and promoting structured products, fixed income instruments, and alternative investment solutions. Identify and cultivate commercial opportunities for both existing and potential clients. Strive to close transactions that improve FM's market share while satisfying clients' investment needs
  • Facilitate client requests for structured products and alternative investment products with a solution-providing approach
  • Build and maintain efficient working relationships with internal colleagues in Trading, Structuring, Research and other relevant teams/divisions, as well as regional Sales Teams to create commercial synergies (eg. cross-selling), and client service enhancements
  • Keep close track of current local and international market developments that could have an impact at the product, client, and industry level. Coordinate this information with product targeting, sales activities, and client services.
  • Integrate established policies in areas such as corporate strategy, customer strategy & initiatives, risk, and compliance into daily work activities
  • Comply with Compliance rules and internal manuals to achieve a high level of work ethic and professionalism.
  • Ensure that following Compliance Objectives are met : (i) Get trained and familiarize yourself with the relevant dealer licensing and regulatory requirements related to the markets in which you operate; and understand the relevant local financial industry code of conducts, (ii) Keep compliant with the relevant ING policies and procedures, and ensure that all compliance and non-financial risk management requirements are fulfilled in all client dealings, (iii) Promptly escalate any possible compliance violations (e.g. market abuse or inappropriate behaviors carrying reputational risk) to Compliance and FM Management

Person Specifications

To be considered for the position, the following qualifications and skills are preferred:

  • University degree in business administration, economics or finance and an MBA from business school is preferred
  • Strong ability to manage client relationships with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as Sales and/or working experience at a financial institution
  • Network of contacts in NBFI/FIs
  • Good knowledge of financial products
  • High level of market sense to see the trends/flows in the financial market
  • High level of self-motivation and result-oriented approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in working with local and global clients; and
  • Fluency in English and Korean, both verbally and written.
