Company Secretary Assistant

12 month contract

We have a newly created role for an Assistant to the Governance and Company Secretary, supporting ING’s Australia Board, Board Committees and Executive Committee functions and processes. In this busy, varied role you will work closely with our CoSec, have liaison with executives, senior management and internal teams across all corporate governance activities.

Governance and CoSec is responsible for ensuring the Australian ING entities comply with statutory and regulatory governance related requirements in an environment of change and challenge, so the CoSec Assistant role offers a developmental governance opportunity, with increasing exposure to entity management and regulatory obligations under supervision.

This a unique opening ideal for a versatile administrator who has already had some experience with corporate record keeping and is keen to take on a varied, challenging role that offers scope to contribute to the evolution of both the role and the wider function.

What you’ll do

  • Providing high-quality and efficient administrative and governance support to the Co Sec;
  • Supporting disciplined information flows to Board and Committees
  • Maintaining governance artefacts and action tracking that helps demonstrate effective oversight and follow-through in support of the organisation’s risk management framework while ensuring materials are accurate, timely and well-controlled; and
  • Supporting the efficient corporate administration of the Australian ING entities.

What we’re looking for

  • 1-3 years' experience in governance administration, legal operations, corporate services or providing executive/board support with a corporate environment 
  • Proven experience in effectively supporting senior stakeholders, operating with discretion in confidential matters.
  • Highly desirable to have had exposure to regulated finance services governance (APRA/ASIC environments)
  • Microsoft 365 proficiency and ideally; experience with governance systems/portals
  • Time management, prioritisation skills, high attention to detail, version control, document hygiene and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability
  • Growth mindset; willingness to embrace new technology to implement efficiencies and continuously improve
