Project Manager AI Risk

ING Hubs Poland is hiring!

We are looking for a project manager to accelerate ING’s journey for AI Risk Management

ING has high ambitions to capture the potential of the use of (Generative) AI and leverage its capability throughout the organisation. After a first year of piloting, proof of concepts and acceleration on Gen AI use cases, ING is preparing to expand in a bold but responsible way. As a Risk Function we want to ensure we can properly support ING’s ambitions by ensuring that the risk management framework can sufficiently capture the new characteristics of (Gen)AI risk management, while ensuring it is efficient, effective and scalable. To this end the CRO domain has set-up an AI Risk Centre of Excellence (CoE) and ING is looking for a Senior Project Manager to help in this process to enable ING’s expansions on (Gen)AI.

Given the evolving nature of the use of (Gen)AI the AI Risk management is expected to evolve over time as well. So far, people allocated from different parts of the risk organisation have collaborated and defined a risk management

Next steps are expansion of GenAI within the bank, needing a holistic and strategic view within the Risk function. The AI Risk Project Manager reports directly to Lead AI Risk Management, but will closely collaborate with the teams in Moel Risk, Non-Financial Risk and Compliance that are part of the CoE. In addition, the role is also expected to interact with all other senior management of the CRO function, and ING Analytics.

We are looking for you if:

  • You have experience in strategic project management within complex, matrixed organizations.
  • You bring a solid background in risk management within the financial services industry, including familiarity with AI and GenAI-related risks.
  • You are comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders at MBB-2 level and ideally also at MBB-1.
  • You are a proactive leader who can anticipate risks and dependencies in a rapidly evolving AI landscape.
  • You are skilled in both agile and traditional project methodologies and can tailor your approach to the context and maturity of the organization
  • You speak fluent English (C1/C2)

You’ll get extra points for:

  • Experience working with Model Risk, Non-Financial Risk, Compliance, or Information Security teams.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and risk governance related to AI.
  • Ability to build consensus and influence decisions in high-stakes environments.
  • A track record of leading transformation projects in the risk or technology domain.

Your responsibilities:

  • Strategic Programme Oversight: Lead the coordination of AI Risk Centre of Excellence initiatives, ensuring alignment with ING’s strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Governance and Delivery Management: Design and implement governance structures and execution plans for complex, cross-functional projects in a risk-controlled environment.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key liaison between senior management, risk functions (Model Risk, Non-Financial Risk, Compliance), and business units to ensure effective communication and decision-making.
  • Framework Implementation: Support the development and operationalisation of the AI Risk Management framework, embedding it into existing risk processes across domains.
  • Use Case Monitoring: Oversee the tracking and evaluation of AI use cases, ensuring proper documentation, control implementation, and alignment with ING’s risk appetite.
  • Change Enablement: Drive change management and communication strategies to promote awareness and adoption of AI risk governance practices across the organization.

Information about the squad:

  • You will join the AI Risk Centre of Excellence – a multidisciplinary team of experts from NFR, Compliance, Model Risk, Legal, and CISO, working closely with ING Analytics.
  • The team operates in a hybrid model, with locations in Amsterdam and Warsaw.
  • You will report directly to the Lead AI Risk Management.
  • Your stakeholder landscape includes senior leaders and experts across ING’s global organization, including both 1st and 2nd Line of Defense.
  • We work in a dynamic, professional, and fast-evolving environment, driven by trust, purpose, collaboration, and open communication.
  • At ING, we live by our values – and we expect you to do the same.

The role naming convention in the global ING job architecture will be “Product Manager III”.
