Senior AI Service Designer

Design how humans and AI agents work together. 

We're building a new generation of onboarding and financial crime workflows powered by AI agents. These systems don't simply automate tasks. They gather evidence, analyse information, coordinate activities across systems, and support specialists in making critical decisions.

The challenge isn't in making existing workflows slightly better. It is designing systems where people and AI collaborate effectively in environments that require trust, accountability, and sound judgement. We're looking for a Senior AI Service Designer to help define these experiences. 

Role Summary

In our product teams, we build agentic AI solutions on a modern cloud-based AI platform. As a designer-builder, you will not write production code, but you will create agent prototypes to understand capabilities, constraints, orchestration patterns, and user experience implications firsthand. You’ll interact with users and stakeholders to understand what we should build.

You will work closely with the business domain Design Lead, as well as with PM, engineers, datascientists and UX researcher in the product team. You’ll report to the business domain Design Lead and our the manager of the AI Design team. The AI Design Team acts as an internal design studio in ING, and also supports our professional development and knowledge exchange between 12 designers across multiple countries.

Our hybrid working model is designed to balance collaboration, innovation, and personal flexibility. Team members typically come together in our Vadistanbul office for two days per week during three weeks of the month, while one week each month is fully remote.

We also offer additional flexibility during August, allowing colleagues to work remotely throughout the month.

As part of a globally distributed organization, you'll collaborate with colleagues across multiple ING locations while contributing to large-scale AI initiatives that create impact across the bank.

What You'll Do

Since we’re among first to develop Agentic AI products at ING, you’ll get to explore and shape how we use the technology.

You will: 

• Design and prototype human-agent collaboration models. 
• Create interaction patterns for transparency and control and define how AI agents communicate confidence and recommendations. 
• Recommend where redistribute roles to AI, and where to keep the human in the loop to for instruction, reviews, escalations.
• Translate complex operational and regulatory workflows into intuitive experiences.
• Contribute to reusable Agentic UX principles and standards. 
  

We're looking for someone who

• Has at least 7 years of Product/ Service Design experience, with clear examples of shaping the direction of projects you worked on.
• Demonstrates hands-on experimentation with AI systems (e.g., Copilot Studio, custom GPTs, agent frameworks, orchestration tools, or AI prototyping platforms)
• Rapidly prototypes and evaluates agentic experiences (also without production engineering responsibilities) using Figma and AI tooling.

• Has strong facilitation skills to lead workshops and bridge perspectives between Product, Engineering, Data Science and business stakeholders. 

• Has experience working with complex workflows and data-intensive environments such as Financial Services or Operations.
• Has experience designing AI-powered products or services
