Senior Frontend Engineer (OneWeb Foundation)

We are looking for an experienced frontend engineer to help build and maintain the OneWeb application, including its platform, libraries, and core features.

The team
You will be working within the Omnichannel IT Domain, specifically in the Digital Provider Channel Capabilities Area. This area focuses on building and maintaining services related to digital banking for the web.

In this role, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team composed of software engineers and business colleagues. You will collaborate with your teammates as well as with UX designers and software architects from outside the team. Together, you will define how to develop new functionalities.

Most of your time will be spent on implementing, testing, and deploying these functionalities to production. Our technology stack includes web components, lit-html, lit-element, ES modules, and tools from open-wc and modern-web. While familiarity with these technologies is advantageous, it is not a requirement.

Your main responsibility is making sure that the OneWeb application runs smoothly.

How to succeed

  • 5-6 years of software development experience, with at least 3 years focused on frontend development
  • In-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Strong understanding of web accessibility
  • Good understanding of modern frontend development concepts
  • Experience with modern software development frameworks such as Lit, React, Vue, Angular, Svelte and others
  • Experience using test runners such as Karma, Jest and Web Test Runner
  • Experience using test frameworks/libraries such as Mocha, Chai and Sinon
  • Skilled in managing complex git workflows
  • Knowledgeable about CI/CD pipelines
  • Proficient in English (written and verbal)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working with agile including scrum and/or kanban

Stand-by shifts

Business critical systems, such as client processes, payment processes, software applications and websites, require a 24/7 accessibility and availability of several (groups) of employees to act quickly during unforeseen circumstances, such as calamities or incidents. For these (groups) of employees ING have set up a Stand-by regulation. To compensate for the inconvenience of being available at this time, a Stand-by compensation is awarded.

  • If you are designated by your lead for stand-by shifts to be available for incidents outside of your regular working hours, a Stand-by compensation is awarded.
