The Internal & External Communications team, part of the Center of Expertise (CoE) Brand, Marketing & Communications is looking for a Communications Channels Expert.

The team

As our new Communications & Channels Expert you’ll join the Internal & External Communications team and report into the Head of Internal & External Communications.

The purpose of the team is to ensure a solid and consistent communication strategy, empowering storytelling, without discrepancy between the messages shared with employees and those conveyed to external audiences. Creating a sense of belonging and shared understanding for the strategy & culture among employees and external stakeholders fostering alignment, pride and advocacy. By integrating communications, we can create a harmonious and effective communications strategy that supports overall business objectives, enhances reputation, and fosters a positive organisational culture.

Purpose of the role: The Channel Manager is responsible for execution and management (of publications) of various communication channels, including the intranet, email, Viva Engage, and other platforms. This role ensures that all channels are effectively utilised to support organisational goals, enhance employee engagement, and maintain consistent messaging across the organisation.

Roles and responsibilities:

1.) Intranet Management:

  • Oversee the content and functionality of the intranet.

  • Ensure the intranet is user-friendly, updated regularly, and serves as a central hub for internal communications.

  • Collaborate with different departments to gather and publish relevant content.

2.)Email Communication:

  • Develop and manage email campaigns for internal audiences.

  • Ensure emails are clear, engaging, and aligned with the organization's communication strategy.

  • Monitor and analyse the effectiveness of email communications.

3.} Viva Engage (formerly Yammer):

  • Manage the Viva Engage platform to encourage collaboration and communication among employees.

  • Facilitate discussions, share updates, and promote engagement on the platform.

  • Monitor usage and provide training to employees on effective use.

4.)Content Creation:

  • Produce and curate content for various communication channels, socials and ING.com.

  • Ensure consistency in tone, style, and messaging across all platforms.

  • Work with the communications team to develop a content calendar.

5.)Analytics and Reporting

  • Track and analyse the performance of communication channels.

  • Provide regular reports and insights to improve communication strategies.

  • Use data to make informed decisions about channel optimization.

6.)Employee Engagement:

  • Gather feedback from employees to improve communication tools and methods.

  • Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

  • Develop initiatives to boost employee engagement through effective use of communication channels.

7.) Training and Support:

  • Provide training and support to employees on using communication tools.

  • Develop resources and guides to help employees navigate and use the platforms effectively.

Skills:

  • Content creation: strong writing, editing, and content production skills.

  • Digital literacy: proficiency with communication software, intranet management tools, email marketing platforms, and social media.

  • Planning & & hands-on execution: support development of clear, impactful channel communication strategies and effectively bring them to life through actionable plans that align with organisational goals.

  • Interpersonal skills: excellent collaboration and communication skills.

  • Analytical skills: ability to analyse data and provide actionable insights.

Experience:

  • 3 years of experience in communication roles, including managing digital channels.

  • Proven track record of successful communication campaigns implementation.

  • Experience with intranet management, email marketing, and social media platforms.

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.

  • A salary indication of 4,368 - € 7,088based on 36 hours per week, tailored to your qualities and experience
