Mission

As a Martech Integration Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring evolution and end-to-end technical integration of ING Romania marketing technology ecosystem and sustain one of the most important objectives of the bank, Growth.

You’ll work in a high‑impact role at the intersection of Technology, Digital Marketing, and Data, enabling reliable data flows between ad platforms, analytics and marketing automation systems, core banking systems, and digital channels - while meeting ING’s engineering, security, and data standards.

About the team

You’ll join the Growth Tribe / Martech technical Area, working in a cross‑functional Agile team alongside engineers, digital marketing specialists, architects, and security experts. The team combines product- driven goals with strong engineering discipline, collaborating closely with local and global stakeholders as well as strategic vendors.

Your day to day

  • Collaborate in an international environment to analyze business needs and turn them into well‑architected, reliable integration solutions.

  • Design, implement, and maintain system‑to‑system integrations across the Martech stack (e.g. CDP, analytics, attribution, consent, advertising platforms, CRM).

  • Act as technical owner of integration flows, including APIs, event pipelines, server‑side tracking, and batch or file‑based interfaces.

  • Ensure data consistency, quality, and observability across integrated systems through monitoring, logging, alerts, and reconciliation checks.

  • Drive onboarding of new Martech tools by coordinating technical setup, environments, connectivity, and access management.

  • Collaborate with architects to align integrations with ING reference architectures, security standards, and data governance requirements.

  • Act as a technical reference point for Java/JVM‑based components within the Martech ecosystem, providing guidance on design, quality, and technical decisions, while collaborating closely with JVM engineers and aligning with overall platform standards

  • Manage dependencies, risks, and technical constraints related to third‑party platforms and vendors.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of integration standards, documentation, and reusable patterns within the Growth / Martech domain.

  • Support incident investigation and problem management for Martech integrations, ensuring efficient root‑cause analysis and remediation.

What you bring to the team

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 

  • 5+ years of experience in system integration, solution architecture, platform engineering, or similar technical roles. 

  • Experience with Martech or Growth technology stacks: CDP, analytics, attribution, advertising platforms, marketing automation and experimentation tools

  • Hands‑on experience with API‑based integrations (REST / gRPC, webhooks, OAuth, service accounts) and event streaming platforms (e.g. Event Hubs). 

  • Experience working with cloud‑based platforms and SaaS solutions, preferably in Martech or data‑intensive environments. 

  • Familiarity with event‑driven architectures (client‑side and server‑side events, tagging, streaming concepts). 

  • Familiarity with cloud‑native, container‑based application platforms and service migration patterns. 

  • Experience with near‑real‑time and batch data flows, including payload validation and schema management. 

  • Solid understanding of security, privacy, and consent implications in data integrations (GDPR awareness required). 

  • Familiarity with enterprise security, risk, and architecture governance processes (identity, application security, vulnerability management). 

  • Professional working proficiency in English. 

Nice to have

  • Experience with the following Martech solutions: Adobe, Braze, Optimizely, Tealium, Amplitude.

  • Experience with server‑side tracking patterns, including reverse‑proxy-based implementations.

  • Knowledge of SQL and Oracle, with the ability to reason about datasets, metrics, and data quality.

  • Experience working in regulated environments such as banking, finance, or insurance.
