Formerly known as ING Tech, as of 2022 we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities under the name of ING Hubs Romania and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.

With the help of over 1600 engineers, risk, and operations professionals, we offer 130 services in tech, non-financial risk & compliance, audit and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide.

Our tech capabilities remain the core of our business, with more than 1300 colleagues active in Data Management, TouchPoint Channels & Integration, Core Banking, and Global Products.

The Mission

ING Tech is looking for a strong developer who is technically passionate, solution-focused and able to design, develop, test, maintain and expand the functionalities of the Inside Business Portal that is used by corporate clients (operating in 40 countries) globally.

Technically, together with your scrum team, you will be responsible for the solution, from product requirements to development, testing and deployment, in a diverse ecosystem.

Your day to day

Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:

  • Enjoy working in our Squad
  • Develop and enhance microservices, part of the Commercial Banking Portal
  • Adapt and evolve a in diverse ecosystem: front-end, back-end with Spring Boot and Java 8, Oracle, dockerized development, BDD with Python, production metrics.
  • Code reviews
  • Work with Azure pipelines
  • Demo to other team members and stakeholders

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Experience: more than 3 years of Java development
  • Tech stack/ knowledge:
    • Mandatory:

• Adaptable, proactive and willing to take ownership and responsibility.

• Experience with the Spring/Spring MVC/SpringBoot, REST APIs design and implementation,

• Knowledge about SOAP APIs

• Nice to have PL/SQL Oracle Database

• BDD/TDD mindset

• Fluent in English (written and verbal) with proven written and verbal communication skills

• A team player who is open to sharing knowledge and learning from a great team of engineers

• Experience of working in a cross-functional Agile Team.

• Prepared to take the Banker’s Oath just like any other ING employee

  • Nice to have:

• Kotlin (nice to have or willing to learn)

• Python (nice to have or willing to learn)

• Experience with Kafka

• Understanding the basic concepts of cloud-based services like Azure DevOps and AWS

• Experience in continuous deployment and continuous integration

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Openshift

  • Foreign languages: English (advanced)
  • Education: nice to have Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an IT related field
