We started out in 2015 as ING’s software development hub – a distinct entity from ING Bank Romania – then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies. Formerly known as ING Tech, as of 2022 we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities under the name of ING Hubs Romania and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.

With the help of over 1600 engineers, risk, and operations professionals, we offer 130 services in tech, non-financial risk & compliance, audit and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide.

Our tech capabilities remain the core of our business, with more than 1300 colleagues active in Data Management, TouchPoint Channels & Integration, Core Banking, and Global Products.

Your day to day

Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:

• Solution Design: design end-to-end solutions, including data acquisition, preprocessing, reporting, user interface, IT risk norms compliance, model development and deployment. Ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability of the new features according to the priorities of the team to meet the delivery commitments.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and identify opportunities for the Monitoring Tool integration.
• Deployment and integration: design and oversee the deployment of solution developed into production environments. Collaborate with software engineers for seamless integration with existing products/systems.
• Help establish standards and best practices – guide developers, training and testing framework, coding standards, engineering practices.

• Assess the efficiency of end-to-end operational processes by identifying and mitigating risks.

• Collaborate closely with an international team made of Chapter Leads, Product Owners, Agile Coaches, Business Analysts, Architects, ETL DevOps engineers and Infrastructure Specialists.
• Up to date with the latest industry standards, trends in the area of Data Management and latest global solutions in ING.

What you’ll bring to the team

• Experience:
  • Strong proficiency in System Integrations, Data Modelling, APIs, Event Streaming, DevOps, is required.
  • Proven track record of managing the functional and non-functional requirements and designing solutions to meet these requirements.
  • Good understanding of the Agile methodologies and working in Scrum/SAFE practices
  • Familiarity with data engineering and data preprocessing techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Engineers, Architects and DevOps.
  • Banking Industry experience is a plus.
• Tech stack/ knowledge:
  • Mandatory: Oracle Database, Event Bus, Data Lake and Big Data concepts.
  • Nice to have: Apex, Kafka, Python, Java.
• Soft skills:
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to translate functional and non-functional requirements (eg. Security, Scalability, Integration).

Foreign languages: English (advanced)

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an IT related field
