Product Area Lead - Safe Business, Mortgages

Presenta la candidatura

At ING, we're building a banking experience that puts customers first while maintaining the highest standards of risk management, governance and regulatory compliance.

As Product Area Lead – Safe Business, you'll play a critical leadership role at the intersection of risk and business strategy, helping shape how one of Australia's leading mortgage portfolios manages risk while enabling growth, innovation and exceptional customer outcomes.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced risk professional to become a trusted advisor to the Mortgage Tribe Lead and senior leadership team. You'll have the influence to challenge, guide and support strategic decisions, lead complex risk and remediation initiatives, and embed a strong risk culture across the business. Whether your expertise has been developed in Line 1 risk management or Line 2, you'll bring the depth of experience required to navigate a complex regulatory environment, drive an uplift in automated processes and controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risk and drive practical commercial outcomes.

If you're looking for a role that offers visibility, impact and the opportunity to shape the future of safe and sustainable lending, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with the Tribe Lead and Leadership Team to identify, assess and manage risks across the mortgage business, providing expert guidance and constructive challenge.
  • Lead complex risk, issue management and remediation initiatives, ensuring regulatory obligations are met and customer outcomes remain front of mind.
  • Drive the effective operation of risk frameworks, controls, governance activities and business continuity practices across the portfolio.
  • Translate risk insights into commercial, actionable recommendations that support sustainable business growth and informed decision-making.
  • Champion a strong risk culture by influencing stakeholders, improving accountability and embedding best-practice risk management across teams.

What We're Looking For

  • Significant experience within mortgages, home lending, retail banking or consumer/unsecured lending environments.
  • 10+ years' experience within banking risk, compliance or business management, with deep expertise gained in either Line 1 or Line 2 risk environments.
  • Experience operating within a Line 1 risk environment, with direct accountability for managing business risks and controls, will be highly regarded.
  • Deep understanding of operational risk, regulatory obligations, controls, incidents, issues, remediation and governance frameworks.
  • A highly credible stakeholder manager who can engage senior leaders, influence outcomes and balance risk management with commercial objectives.

What’s in it for you?

  • Discounted ING Health Insurance
  • An additional Rest Day to support your wellbeing
  • An IMPACT day to volunteer on approved sustainability activity
