About Fiducre

Fiducre is a leading player in the area of debt recovery in Belgium. The company is a subsidiary of ING Belgium and employs around 180 people. The clients of Fiducre are Belgian financial institutions and banks. 

The company has two main activities:

  1. Fiducre is active since 1965 on the Belgian debt recovery market, purchasing recent or depreciated portfolios from financial institutions such as ING, Record Credits, Buy Way, Santander Consumer Finance, Cofidis and Crelan. The recovery and risk of default is supported by Fiducre since it recovers the outstanding debts for own account. ING files represent 50% of the purchased portfolios.
  2. Since 2017, Fiducre is mandated by ING Belgium and Record Credits to perform all retail collections activities. This Collections Center services customers with financial difficulties and aims to minimize risk cost and capital requirements for the bank.

About the Head of Back Office, Accounting and Analytics function 

As Head of Back Office, Accounting and Analytics you’ll manage a team of about 20 to 25 people. 

You are responsible for various support departments at Fiducre:

  • Back Office: This department covers most administrative tasks of Fiducre. Within this department you strive for the highest possible efficiency and automation. You liaise with the other Fiducre departments for which you cover administrative tasks, as well as with the IT department in the domain of automation.
  • Accounting, procurement and budgeting: although the actual accounting is handled by the Finance department of the parent company ING Belgium, and procurement by its Procurement department, you liaise on a daily basis with these ING departments within these domains. You are also in charge of the budgeting within Fiducre.
  • Analytics and Business Information: You support the management and the various departments through clear and transparent reporting on Fiducre's business and continuously improve the management processes.

You are part of the Management Team of Fiducre and report directly to the CEO. 

Key Challenges of the function

  • You contribute to strategic developments and programs, bringing insights and management information.
  • You manage very different types of teams and people, requiring a capacity to interact credibly on a variety of topics, without being an expert in those.
  • You make sure the necessary expertise and competences are present in the team and you instill a continuous improvement mindset in the team.
  • You ensure that your entire team, and in particular your direct reports, get the necessary tools, coaching and training in order to be fully future proof, with a special attention to people management skills.
  • You contribute to administrative innovations and optimization.
  • You are the guardian of short- and long-term profitability.
  • You liaise with the other Fiducre departments and with several stakeholders within ING.

Required experiences

Must-have

  • Experience in operational (support) management.
  • Financial acumen.
  • Team leadership experience, managing managers.
  • Experience in managing stakeholders (senior level).
  • Experience dealing with transformation, process improvement, implementation of new tools, new organizational structure…
  • Fluency in NL/FR/ENG.

Assets/Nice to have

  • Experience with credit products.
  • Experience managing suppliers/partners regarding their delivery against the SLA.
  • Experience in a subsidiary of a larger group with some functions done at group level.
  • Experience in strategy definition and P&L.

Competences

  • Intellectual and emotional curiosity and agility: Be polyvalent, capable of managing and understanding different topics, dealing with many different priorities and personalities.
  • Result orientation: Operational excellence, can help surface and implement process improvements and innovations. Ability to make decisions, in a variety of domains.
  • Strategic orientation: strong understanding of key profitability levers. Curiosity towards new developments and trends, new tools,…
  • Negotiation skills and strong interpersonal skills, convincing skills. Ability to pass on strong messages to partners if need be.
  • People Leadership: effectively inspire and develop a very diverse team, including people who have more expertise than the leader. Effectively delegate while staying responsible. Role model the values of the company and get the best out of everyone. Coach managers.
