The team

Within our Human Resources organization, People Services creates a distinctive Employee Experience and works closely with the HR Centre of Expertise and HR Business Partners.

People Services handles employee and manager/lead questions and requests end-to-end in self-managing autonomous teams. This is done with a high level of expertise, creating a "WOW" experience.

Part of People Services is Payroll, Local Compensation and Benefits. Within this Circle, the Absence & Benefits team is responsible for the correct and timely processing and monitoring of payroll in the Netherlands with respect to long-term sickness and local employment conditions.

Roles and responsibilities

You will be responsible for the proper operational and administrative handling concerning absence and disability. You will also answer questions from employees and process mutations with respect to their employment conditions. This includes:

  • Managing the administration regarding the Sickness Act and WIA

  • Being responsible for local benefits such as Pensions/Insurances/Lease-a-bike/Cool blue Home Office

  • Ensuring an accurate HR and payroll administration for our 15.000 Dutch ING employees

What will you be doing further as a Payroll, Absence & Benefit Expert?

  • With the team, you determine each day what work must be completed by the end of the day. The work is carried out carefully and on time.

  • You are end-to-end responsible, from submitting benefits in the payroll till a correct salary slip for every employee, even if you need other colleagues or chain partners to do so. You also work well with international colleagues in such a way that employees have a correct payroll and working conditions.

  • You have contact with ING colleagues who need help or advice on absence and benefits matters. This requires a well-developed empathy to pick up important information relevant to the advice.

  • Together with your fellow advisors, you are responsible for sharing and securing knowledge and skills.

  • In this role you will perform operational tasks like processing mass mutations, executing internal and external payment transactions, solving complex employee queries as a tier 3, but you will also go beyond execution. You connect and translate policy and regulations into effective executive processes.

  • You work in an agile environment where adaptability and collaboration play an important role. This means that you can adapt to the priorities set at the time and are flexible in your range of tasks. In addition, you will be successful if you achieve your goals as a team/circle.

  • Great interest and willingness to master processes and various products in combination with the various systems;

  • Knowledge and experience with payroll and related rules and regulations in the Netherlands;

  • Knowledge of HR-related operational issues;

  • Good problem analysis. You are able to pull problems and incidents broader and make connections;

  • You are administratively (numerically) strong and proactive;

  • You get energy from optimizing and improving administrative HR processes and contribute to the Employee Experience;

  • Good communication skills (both written and verbally in English and Dutch). You switch easily between the different layers of the organization;

  • PDL (Praktijkdiploma Loonadministratie) certification is an advantage;

  • Workday experience is an advantage;

  • MBO+ / HBO thinking and working level.
