Work environment

Financial Markets Client Control (FMCC) is a department within Financial Markets (FM) Business Services (part of ING Wholesale Banking). The department consists of a Centre of Excellence (COE) in Amsterdam and two execution locations in Bratislava and Manila that provide services to 28 countries worldwide. The aim of these services is to ensure control throughout the client and counterparty life-cycle (from on-boarding to exit and all processes in between) for FM and Group Treasury (GT). FMCC works using ING’s One Agile Way Of Working principles.

Job Description

As Data Analyst, you will be responsible for gauging and analysing the quality of FM data, harmonizing the data for use across FM processes. You initiate and implement changes required to ensure continuous flow of data and maintain data consistency. You have an overview of the product portfolio and know how the systems interact with each other on the data level. For the tasks assigned to you on specific epics (usually related to data), you will perform analysis on the impact on processes, systems and document it.  You will assist (and challenge where needed) the epic owner on epic execution. You will take all possible measures to ensure that the processes you are responsible for work smoothly and any potential road blocks or risks are addressed or escalated in a timely manner be it in on the content level or on operational level.

Main roles and responsibilities:

  • You have good overview of system landscape and data flows; help design and maintain data model and controls
  • Analyse database design and architecture to enhance data flows and optimize reporting/BI solutions
  • You examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating business requirements
  • You support FM salespersons and business management in need of data output, ensure fast turnaround time on data requests; respond to system/database problems in a timely manner
  • You are able to implement change and will steer further developments in data model/architecture and reporting/BI solutions

Competencies and experience

  • Proficiency in Excel and BI tools (PBI or Python) is a must
  • Technical proficiency and strong knowledge regarding database design development, data models, techniques for data mining, and data analytics
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing)
  • 3-4 years working experience in data-related field, OR you have a university degree in e.g. Mathematics, Computer/Data Science, Information Management or Statistics
  • Knowledge in the Financial industry sector or Financial Markets is a plus
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem solving abilities
  • Accuracy and attention to detail

Wage (gross)
From 1 800EUR/month

*By legal requirement we are providing the information about the basic wage component (minimum salary) for the advertised position. Based on your experience/profile, the final financial conditions will be the subject to discuss and negotiate at the personal interview, however, not less than above mentioned minimum salary component.
